transparency

Howdy!
We have just joined this kind of community, and i have to say that i’ve already learn a large amount.
On the list of thing i learned was when using the slice tool for making websites.

So inpired, i created a background impression to slice afterwards. but I possess a question:

so, so picture the following:

We have a header, with the navigation bar ( each " button" shall be sliced), but then i’ll possess a content area. I have to say for reference that it’s just a band web web site, so you realize the drill: news flash, audio, pics, for example.

so, so what i would like is all that’s within the content area features a transparent background to ensure we can notice the image behind(being this image a part(slice) of the website image.

I hope you understood this weak english, and thart you can help me about this.

If an individual make the image your " background image", anything everyone place
on your site will go over the top. Text will look as if float over
that background image.

In the event you place any images, it will include the background until you have
any " transparency" color specified to the image… assuming it is just a. gif image,
or any type that helps you select a see-thorugh color.

You might want to give us a link to the site you’re doing…. this
would really guide us visualize what you’re wanting to do.

There are also solutions to do transparency in CSS in order to make any factors (non-images) transparent too.

thanks for any attention!

well then , i’ll explain better:

We have Slice X, and i want to write about it. i can’t ensure it is background image as it ain’t one…
this image is due to a table cell phone that photoshop developed (i saved regarding web), so it is really like:

Code:
< td colspan=" 6" >
< img src=" images/background_08. jpg" width=" 666" height=" 348" alt=" " >
< /td>

what i want is sort on the textfield that ocupies the main cell, above this kind of image.

I’m undecided that I’m having this yet, but why can’t you do this:

< td background=" images/image1. gif" colspan=" 6" >
Here is my menu text
< /td>

—- supposed to be about table backgrounds —-
http: //www. search engines. com/searchq=td background image& btnG=Search

post tried that, however the image simply disapears as well as slices above separate from each other.: s
good, i guess i am going to try with iframes.
many thanks!

Hi all over again!

I tried again together with your code:

Code:
< td background=" images/image1. gif" colspan=" 6" >
Here is my menu text
< /td>

and by saying the precise size for each one row of tissue the slices " glued" along!

but now we have another problem…: –
I want that when I write inside cell and your text is too big for your space available, i want a scroll standard, so that the image remains and we might scroll the word…
many thanks, in advance!

do that:

< table> < tr>
< td background=" images/image1. gif" colspan=" 6" >
< div style=" flood: auto; " >

Here is my menu text< br>
blah blah blah< br>

< /div>
< /td>
< /tr>
< /table>

.

nonetheless not working..

another thing is that once i see the site in IE issues apear diferent as compared to in mozilla(in mozilla every little thing is right).

I think I need to visit it (give us all a link).
Too hard to help debug and not have the ability to see what’s going on.

well, i fixed the condition.
i used some iframes and also the following code:

Code:
< body style=" background-attachment: preset; background-repeat: no-repeat; " background=" images/background_08. jpg" >

when i upload as well as i will decide to put here a connection or in oter section that you should evaluate.

many thanks!
