Preventing access to site directories..

Truly seen this, by testing it myself, on some websites. That is the right way to prevent viewers in addition to guests from about to a directory, like http: //www. yoursite. com/images/, and getting of which basic HTML number page that allows you to browse throught he / she files. I need it it gives a awesome " access denied" site instead I think this is done inside cpanel or anything, just not convinced where… Decide to put an index. html file within the directory. Users are certain to get that page besides seeing the service structure. They will however be capable to directly browse into the images (if many people know the names). Employ. htaccess instead… … provided you’ve got a host that can handle it (i. at the., not a n00b free one). Nicely, n00b hosts might go kiss: banana: ‘s ass. Grr… WHEN I hate n00bs, specially n00b hosts and also n00b scripters… Put this from a. htaccess file throughout whatever directory you’re looking for this to impact: Code: Options -Indexes This spins off auto-indexing, that (apparently) is with by default during your host.. htaccess rules inherit so if you put this with your root HTML directory … Continue reading

bandwidth consumption calculator?

Where might I find a calculator to know how much bandwidth this website uses for just a given number associated with visitors downloading data Thanks.. just operate it out you. it’s not hard to generate a rough appraisal. Right. Just calculate the common amount downloaded in a single pageview (HTML article and images). Try to remember 1 GB = 1024 * 1024 KB, as well as 1048576 KB. This host provides you. Check your numbers to calculate… So essentially whenever users on avg get 200 kb per page then Allow me to support up to 5242 page views every thirty days for 1gigabyte of bandwidth… 1048576 / 190 = 5242. 88 or 5200 users if every only views 1 page. Ok thanks. I do not know y I just didn’t do this before lol. My loss of thought disturbs us.

This may be a stupid question but take advantage of an e-mail address on your own site as a great MSN Messenger sign in does it apply bandwidth Any data moved between you as well as your host’s servers matters against your bandwidth. Such as, images hosted about another server but linked on the page take up forget about bandwidth than your < img> signal. what about uploading files employing my ftp I think so. FTP remains bandwidth. It’s just packets being offered a different dock. Remember that for many of us hosts, all info transfer is carried out on one IP correct, but with distinct ports. The bandwidth calculator doesn’t care which port the packet ended up being sent over. Only are you wanting were sent.

Or maybe, that I obtain their site executed, Im just waiting on them to buy a computer (because they demand to update it themselves) and obtain hosting and your domain. Does anyone get any examples or know very well what I should include in one Also what would be reasonable pricing regulations to follow in Nebraska I understand some places fee $30 per an hour. I told affiliates that I carrying out a page for right this moment (Spirit Enterprise) i always would charge all of them $20, because right this moment Im just really wanting to create clientele and a portfolio. Dial Up Program

Anybody know of an program that can mimic a dial upward connection for testing downloading webpages on my computer many thanks NetMechanic is a great tool for obtaining page and track sizes. It wouldn’t mimic the download, it basically breaks down the files the particular page requires and present you with a report at it. A hip tool, nonetheless. Rephrased: a plan that caps your computer’s bandwidth (temporarily, obviously) Do not forget that most WYSIGWYG editors include slightly estimated load time in the status bar. Also you can download the site using IE’s Conserve As, get the properties of the. htm and folder this creates, and then divide that size (in KB) by means of 6 (about the transfer speed with 56k). so thanks Would that add size of any images utilized in it’s file sizing though I generally thought it only exercised the size regarding just the html page itself. certainly, images too. grooovy.

The problem is the layers stay consistent, and dont move once the site is resized. That is certainly fixed with espresso, but i guess the actual problem is with the resolutions. The sites appears to be great in 1024 nevertheless half of it goes heli-copter flight screen at SIX HUNDRED. My current web site http: //www. looseleafmusic. com is often a perfect example of this. Within Dreamweaver, you might convert layers for you to tables, this is usually wonderful, but this doesn’t happen work all that well personally. When i alter it, the layers get tossed in the wrong place. Only leave it because layers, it appears to be horrible in 800×600. I am not terribly about the existing website on http: //www. looseleafmusic. com, but with the new one we have been creating. the brand new site is in the short term at http: //www. looseleafmusic. com/bustedtables/ this site is done along with layers… This one is converted to tables. http: //www. looseleafmusic. com/bustedtables/index2. htm Obviously normally the one … Continue reading
