What makes a Great Website?

ALRIGHT Ladies and Gentelmen…

What makes a great Website

Examine….

yer earliest vote. woo hoo.

there’s no doubt that first impressions. after i am designing the latest site i plan to minimize the window after which it maximize it. if i obtain scared and head to the hills when i see the form then i know i can restart it.

Why did you make me decide on just 1 there are so many critical indicators you cant just simply do 1 matter and say ok its a fantastic website u gotta have each of the good things. But id say the key functions are very first impression, easy to be aware of, and some beneficial content.

None of your above / Each of the above… it really depends on the kind of website.

A news site is CONTENT.

Research online engine would always be SIMPLE TO UNDERSTAND

A resource site is FUNCTIONAL

A commerce site is FIRST IMPRESSIONS (market appeal)

A design company site is FLASH FLASH FLASH!

Of training course, the most essential OVERALL factor could be CONTENT… with no it, all you will have is a construction.

The site must have good content, always be quick to download, be simple that will navigate and be easy about the eye concerning colours and wording. But number an example may be content.

Nick

its each of the above for me personally, if they got that choice….

however i say this layout is very first, only if the website is concerning html/graphics/flash or whatever professional, people search for flashy sites (not 100% true) however thats what post do, if a site looks nice we’d start reading that content of that….

I agree that these are important, and I also think that some are similar. Easy to Find their way, Simple to Realize and Layout tend to be all related, along with the whole list is definitely what forms your own First Impression. Then again, Content is the meat belonging to the site, so naturally is said in addition to done, no subject material –> no web-site.

" Straightforward to understand" is important for quite a few.
And the course-plotting would also be included in the category.

I have belongings on my website but I have no idea if my visitors know how to start off =/

Simple to understand is an important. If I need ideas of what’s going on, I’m going to maneuver on.

Content may be the moreimportant than quality… a blank page is extremely simple to comprehend, but it’s furthermore useless

In contrast, a jumble of information could be difficult to comprehend, but may be employed to someone.

Then again, for some web sites, content is useless… such as they’re certified engine. In of which case, clarity is more important, since there really is definitely no " content" by itself.

Naturally, content is a kind of ambiguous descriptors. It may mean text, images, media, news, links, meta-data, applets / scriptlets, or even any combination thereof. Thus, it’s arguable that everything while in the list is the sub-category of " content".

Display really annoys modem customers like myself. I figure modem users can also be still the the greater part internet surfer – so We’d always caution designers going easy with flash and graphics.

Naturally, it’s been a design " rule" for years now on the internet that if your own page doesn’t load within 7 just a few seconds, you’ve lost yet another of your website visitors already. (Or like that. )

Just study the preceding comments and all produce valid points. Which just visits show, a great website is defined by the individual taste from the viewer. Some sites you want may be hated by others. Privately, from the listing of options, I’d need to go for service…. if the website don’t do what its imagined to….. why bother It just becomes more litter for the side of the knowledge superhighway….. (oh consequently profound lol).
