soo many images

we’ve a few hundred or so images through my own website. say there’s 50 images in a very table or grid layout with a web page, but each of the images use diverse heights and widths. perhaps there is say a arranged template that sizing’s the images automatically or somthing or do i see myself resizing many hundreds images manually. Adobe Illustrator has batch-job capabilities. Start a brand-new action, resize one graphic (using % or absolute size of hospitality attire dimension), then " Help save As" a fresh image. Stop your action, then run the batch with a whole folder, overriding your " Save As". Here’s a complete tutorial on this: http: //www. larry-bolch. com/thumbnails/ Woah that works a treat Cheers smoseley _b.

Dissolve pic effect

I’ve a client in which wants a slide show on the home page which has a disslove transition consequence. As one is actually dissolving he wants the next one to be to arrive. It’s for a strong industrial builder as well as these pics shall be in chronological order from innovative to ribbon slicing. It needs to get in a to the point area, like the div. Slide shows are among my weak things (among many! ) So 2 questions: 1) Where can one get one 2) I’m a little concerned about heap time Any advice Is Flash unthinkable If I don’t forget correctly dissolve is usually an animation option within flash. Determined by the size from the images the load time could possibly be minimal. Although in the event you choose this then you are expecting your visitors to get Flash installed. Yeah I don’t know Flash. I know someone who could do it though. I have a pic viewer I’ve truly used before right outside DW example below that worked well and I think it has dissolve from it. I just are not aware of how stable the code is nevertheless it worked in ie6, SEVERAL and ff. … Continue reading

Autoplaying videos

A client wants autoplaying video lessons on their internet site. I know this in the form of terrible idea coming from a usability and normal annoyance standpoint but my Google searches just reveal people asking the right way to do it. Does anybody know on the credible source in which describes autoplaying content as being a bad practice Provided, anything that shoves internet marketing in someone’s deal with is bad process. However, its your clients site. Whenever he wants video’s to help auto-play, so be it. It’s his cash. Now after you say video’s, what format is it in In Flash you are able to set them to auto-play I believe. It’ll almost definitely be Flash. Slight chance of Silverlight. Yes, it’s the client’s money, but my company is really a consulting firm consequently it’s first our job to see them that the concept is wrong as well as why. I might say from the marketing perspective, this could reflect negatively of the customers site, and also will load pointless data, slowing down the website. Let the user select it if they want to show it or they might not come back due to video that tons. Furthermore, if a … Continue reading

Concerns over legal use of logos

Howdy all, I’m in the deal of completing a website for a client that features a lot of high-profile consumers (Fortune 500, Govt, etc. ) On the list of pages being included showcases many of these clients, and contains their company trademarks. Once much toil, my client explained that he now has doubts regarding the legality of such as his client’s trademarks. The page just shows a bulleted listing next to several logos. Nothing otherwise. Of course, I told your ex that he should ask a few of his clients about copyright infringement. But I likewise assured him that the simple truth is he had NOTHING to stress about. Will anyone here have got any experience/insights with similar matters Any thoughts shall be greatly appreciated. My former employer’s customer page: http: //www. grassrootsamerica. com/index. jsptemplate=clients& page=clients& id=clients I know they got explicit permission from some of the clients to apply their logos, and not all. The only trouble they ever had was when consumers changed their logos and GRA still had the old logo up. The worst issue that ever taken place was a telephone call requesting an update. ———————– Nonetheless, in answer for your question, you’re not necessarily worried … Continue reading

Creating a fancy menu in dreamweaver 8?

I come to this forum beyond great frustration!: astonished: We have Dreamweaver 8 along with started building a website on a demo of CS3. Well my trial is over and I’m to DW8, but now I can’t figure out how to create a multi-layer drop-down horizontal navigation bar without the application of the " Spry" instrument. A good example of what I’d like to see to create could be the menu bar on " subway. com". I lack that much web site design experience and can’t find a reply via google, so any help here would be appreciated -AsV Used to do a quick lookup: http: //www. cssplay. company. uk/menus/ http: //www. dynamicdrive. com/dynamicindex1/droptabmenu. htm Most are css only choices, so you might customize them for your needs. I used a spry menu from CS3 also it works in all I tested, even ie 5. 5. It uses a little bit of javascript with this. I’ve been setting up css only navbars these days but only sole level ones.

Adding a posting form to my site

i’d like to have my customers complete a form and allow them to post their particular products on my site like a take a percent with their posting. I have got a gift card web page called regiftyourcards. com/joomla….. i had been wondering if that would be possible. i’d like to see others to place on my web site and allow the particular selling buying and trading for being between them….. Thanks a lot Because you are using Joomla, it will likely be necessary for one to find a Joomla module which does what you’re looking for. I wish I had an answer about where you can find that, but you’ll be able to search Google… type of like this… but it isn’t really really what you’re looking for… http: //www. yahoo and google. com/searchhl=en& q=joomla product card module& btnG=Search In any other case, you’ll have to lease a programmer to undertake it for people. UPDATE: Maybe this is getting closer http: //www. yahoo and google. com/searchhl=en& q=joomla investing module& btnG=Search . For something like this you’ll probably should do a fair amount of custom programming. You’ll should take into account: — User Roles along with Permissions — Custom Data … Continue reading

IE and Firefox

My webpage comes on just the way I’d like to see it to within Firefox. But next time i view it throughout IE, it equates really weird. your menu is far too spaced out, the tagboard doesn’t come up correctly and the fonts are bigger(sometimes). How to fix this Research Google for " IE CSS Package Model Hack" What I find really helpful is that instead of setting up your whole page in a single browser you produce a section, check the idea across all surfers, then continue. I usually break this page into header/content. This makes troubleshooting not that hard as problems are discovered immediately after they happen. Meaning less searching by means of CSS/HTML to diagnose the issue. I did and still, absolutely nothing changes… Probably a very stupid question… but you own tried to carry out the hack correct You haven’t just simply googled it then gone website property and said ‘nope certainly not working’. Have you got a link to your website Its a bit hard to figure blind. Naturally I did! Now i am not that dumb… (joking) Really, I have tried using it out and for whatever reason, IE takes zero notice of this. … Continue reading
