Hey each one, I am fresh to this web site, and fairly brand new to site development. I am focusing on my first true site. I am working for a company referred to as G. A. T. Guns I have re-designed there site and trying to get all of the bugs and things they need done before MY SPOUSE AND I host it. I have pretty much everything done but recently the owner through something at me that we did not know how to do. He wants to acquire a section that displays the many stores used pistols. I set up a page in which does this, it pretty much takes a XML file that they generate and displayes this kind of. This works though the problem is no include pictures in the products which is a main thing that he would like. They have some sort of instore data trust that contains doing this information I am just uncertain how to display this level of detail onto the website. I don’t know plainly should use a third party Shopping basket system or whenever a an eaiser approach.
We have looked into several Shopping cart plans, but the problem I will be facing is that individuals don’t actually wish to sell the products only display a image and information of these taken from this database.
So if any has any ideas that could help me over come concern I would end up being incredibly grateful. Also if any needs any further information from me so that they can help me I will be willing to let you know that.
Many thanks Again.
Howdy cmoney,
If the database is currently there, I would do a search on google regarding database tutorials plus php. I’m in the deal of extending this knowledge on php in addition to Mysql as many of us speak. You might realize that there are approaches alot easier or doing what you would like to do than messing considering the xml. Php is a dream with regards to databases. When MY PARTNER AND I started messing along with php and doing online tutorials, I used to be building my private pages and databases inside a matter of 1 week.
Hi zccm,
What would you suggest for some good online tutorials regarding PHP
I am wanting to find out about PHP and MySQL, but I had been under the impression that you must upload your a way to an internet server before you should use PHP on this. Am I mistaken Will there be a way you can work with PHP with the comfort of your own (dial-up internet) home computer, without having to help upload your files to a web based server, and pay for a domain appoint and all that In reality, can you talk with PHP without even required to connect to your internet
These may could be seen as dumb questions, but I don’t know much about these items, and I’ve never yet actually published an online site online. Thank everyone.
Well working from dial up Allow me to understand why you would like to work off within your local computer. Uploading after small modifications can be time consuming. You can test PHP on your computer, but it has to set up similar to the best way a hosting site is placed up. Basically you might have set your computer up as a server. You have to have IIS configured and running and even PHP configured along with running. I have never established PHP, but We have ran a node from my deskset in addition to IIS. (Internet Details Service) With your windows program xp pro, it comes by now installed and just needs to be configured and commenced. You just get into control panel, add/remove products, then click about add/remove windows components. You will see IIS unchecked. Verify it and implement. You will have the XP install disk because doing so needs more information from your disk. It is often run from experience home edition, but there are a few modifications that must take place 1st. You can find top notch information on organising and configuring IIS and PHP via the internet.
What I normally do when I’m focusing on something new pertaining to someone, as available for you, is I apply there existing internet hosting space and just create a new folder and work and test from there.
IIS and PHP be understood as alot of operate, but it’s not that bad. Coming from html design Allow me to understand why you would want to test locally. I also have an account using a host that MY PARTNER AND I use for just testing new internet sites or new scripts. I use GoDaddy is actually them you should select the Linux operating system as your personal preference for PHP to operate. Everything else is fine fine. With the base package you should have plenty of living room. I think for any domain name in addition to hosting, it costs me personally about $48 to $50 a year.
Do a google search for setting up PHP and you may find alot with good tutorials on planning PHP and IIS and other things that are is required. I pondered doing it by myself, but I always have a dsl interconnection so it’s sorts of pointless for us.
All the best.
