Ive been seeing a lot of sites without still left side navs nowadays, has the general trend moved from navs on this left side solely have top based navs as well as what
When transio has reported before, left navs tend to be good for web pages that have a lot of links.
Many PHP sites get left nav.
Navs about the left or top rated are still famous. You can use each one, or if you’re really good, you can look at to build a good site w/ the nav to the right.
left continues to the best, because that’s what ppl utilized to. top is definitely good too. can’t remember a site with a correct nav.. *shrug
Seriously, Right Nav, haven’t debated with that one in sometime… lol
I could truthfully really not imagine a good reason to perform right nav, except your target market was Left-Handed Rodents Users… LOL… perfect for just a lefty’s only website…
May be people in favour of top nav do so to receive more content to the main page…. thats a good 200 pixels gone if you do right nav, according to how descriptive your own menu buttons tend to be….
Your amazon tab-style is definitely great IMO…
Jakob Nielsen states that that top OR MAYBE left is what people are used to help… *shrug*
Superb and overused. As an aside, Amazon has links about the top, left, proper, and middle… (it has a lot of links! )
I believe it is because we are used to reading still left to right that will left navs are used, it is first of all you instinctivly try to find is a nav in the left.

I’ve heard correct navs recommended with regard to sites with long articles as the nav is then right next to the scrollbar.

My own , personal opinion on the matter is the fact that it really depends upon your content.
Many sites lend themselves more to top rated navigation. These are typically sites with cover anything from 4-6 top-level palate items and occasionally a series with submenus defined by using the splendiferous (yeah, I made that up, so sue me) invention called DHTML. This behaviour tends to model itself following on from the menu system found in all of our favourite Windows-based programs, which really goes a considerable ways toward explaining why this can be a user-friendly setup.
Left-side nav tends to work best with regard to sites that have a lot of top-level navigation goods (I would say more than 8 myself). Left-side navs allow for the webmaster to insert top-level buttons fairly easily, without disturbing the entire flow of coursesmart (feng shui and also the Internet; it’s not only for geeks who know very well what both of all those mean anymore. )
The other final note: ‘microsoft’. com has any right-side navigation club. I don’t know why, since it seems as if something they pulled from a horse’s guiding, but they complete.
Erm, there are left, top-left plus top-right navigation bars. No right versions though…
I now in time am under-going a stage connected with top nav. But I use in spite of I have room for, sometimes We’ve Top left in addition to Right navs with regard to big sites, there isnt really a fashion due to this sort of thing in the event you ask me, There’s no doubt that its deppends about hthe style and appearace of your site.
It’s really a navigation bar within the right side. Thus, it’s a right-side direction-finding. Don’t argue by using me, I’m right.
Microsoft’s homepage has navigation everywhere… top left, best right, left, proper, and middle.. in truth, I think every word within the homepage is clickable.
I wonder what transio could possibly mean by which. When would the thing is a situation wherever every word is actually clickable
