New site

Hi,
I’m working away at an update involving my school house website and required your opinions at how it appearance, the house coloration is pink — hence the shapes and colours used!
I also want some advice on which fonts would look great,
thanks beforehand,
Solidgold
look it over

Im not a huge fan. I’d personally possibly go with a solid grey background as opposed to more stripes. As well, there is a black circle in the middle of the text spot in Firefox. Caring I just seen, is that this page scrolls if it doesnt really need to, and there is definitely no border for the top of the underside pink section, which i think would make the website look a tiny better, since the good news is border on the most notable pink section.

It does not align properly with Firefox, and there may be horizontal and directory scrolling for no reason.

As well, having stripes likely one direction with the top and bottom on the page, and stripes opting another at the center, is a bit of a distraction. Make this solid. It’s like seeing a magic eye on a carousel.

You seriously should find out CSS and XHTML properly without needing the design view in Dreamweaver. Important everything scrolls is because you’ve created layers within the design view, and also given them predetermined widths. You can’t achieve that. Absolute positioning really should not be used for what you’re seeking to achieve.

Gives thanks guys, in response to ljm, i know CSS and xhtml, just never develop the time to utilize them in my personal sites, dreamweaver is a whole lot quicker! i also have designed this url with in mind of it using them exclusively with IE because it’s a college " house" and also my college just has IE, my business is aware that is rather like indicating " most regarding my users have got IE, forget all of the rest" but however i can break free with it, ONLY people coming from my college (meaning only people who have IE) can access this website, which makes retaining the script semantic and so forth rather irrelevant.
I’m sure what you mean regarding the different directions of the stripes though all of which will look into changing that.

For you to Chris:
Lets hope that the black circle has gone now and i’ve truly stopped the web page from scrolling… i do think! to be trustworthy, the border for the top is a part of the image – identical image i’ve used on the bottom – meaning that its upside-down in case you understand me!

thanks a whole lot for your sights, i’ll take these people into consideration!
Solidgold

you will want to make it look amazing coz the item looks hideous lol

avoid… thanks for the actual advice, real grown up

How’s in relation to we offer useful criticism, joofhart

solid — Dreamweaver can be faster than XHTML+CSS because you aren’t experienced ample with XHTML+CSS. Sort of a circular situation. You use Dreamweaver simply because it’s faster, and you may never get speedier with XHTML+CSS

The nice:
I do prefer that you got gone the striped black/grey striped history, and the ebony circle is gone.

The particular Bad:
I have no idea of what you do, but it looks much worse these days. It scrolls both ways, the pink section above extends up over, and the particular pink section upon bottom doesn’t. I’d personally suggest using some sort of sans serif font. The navigation strip is longer versus the content section. The white tier that separates the content from your links in the content portion for the right only runs halfway down that section, and the content explains that line. As well, a lot belonging to the links take me on the awardspace. com site. As far because pink line is going, I would crop it off from the image, and make use of a CSS border for making it look more balanced.

Okay, well thanks males, on further reflectivity it isnt an incredibly nice website by any means! i’ve scrapped that and am these days completely redesigning it with a much more understated shade of red, i’ve kept the particular black striped qualifications, but am utilizing it in a much more subtle manner, the one that doesnt hurt your eyes!,
For you to Shadowfiend:
WHEN I guess you’re possibly right, i just hardly ever have the time to find out CSS and xhtml properly, i always find myself doing one thing else more necessary (usually college course work! ) when i get time period off i’ll get down to learning CSS and xhtml, but at the moment i’m just in order to busy

(a poor excuse i know… )

oh and anyway, i’ll be importing the index page of your new site later this morning

Sounds very good.

hey, had a review of the site (in IE obviously ). looks straight and simply. not really keen on the pink but works ok, bit a lot of of a contrast with luck.

i would suggets probably making the buttons stand out a bit more. whether that staying underline or a new colori would in all probability say color just for some variety, IMO.

want to mention that this page has faults but i believe your still getting this new look but i know u know that

continue trucking: classic:

A SINGLE word… Firefox, enjoy

One word of mouth… Read

When you’d read exactly what i’d put additionally up the web page you’d understand my personal frustration at this particular comment…
