Best software for a newbie to use?

I’d like to create an online site for a house service business that has 8 pages. The property page, a " might know about do" page, testimonies, contact us, faq, a sales mail page, a fit page and an order page of which utilizes Paypal and 2checkout. Is there software with some sort of shorter learning curve which may help me create a decent looking internet site I only realize html and are barely proficient by using Photoshop. I haven’t hired anyone to undertake it because I have no idea of that I’m specialized enough to explain what I want properly and I really need to find out how to build a website. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Theresa Just look through the forums below, and you will dsicover several threads just like this one. You need to learn CSS and also HTML, first, then go from there. In addition, if you planned to pay someone to complete the site for yourself, then you shouldn’t have to worry about an individual being technical adequate, your designer will be able to work with you to definitely get what you look for done. Now, I’m not saying that all designers usually are … Continue reading

BEST COMBO OF SOFTWARE TO USE

We’ve Photoshop CS2, Illustrator, GoLive, plus Dreamweaver 8. Will it be better to make buttons and interfaces inside Fireworks than around Photoshop. Photoshop seems more cumbersome to build such graphics. Consequently, my question will be 1. ) Fireworks v. Illustrator and 2. ) is GoLive better make use of than Dreamweaver. Yet again, thank you ahead and all aid is greatly liked. For a few reason I work with fireworks over photoshop, because I don’t put beauty as #1 on line. Raster-like graphics (I signify ones with a lot of colors and patters) are frequently big and I’m unclear if their aesthetic boost will probably be worth it. Nowadays, desides, vector-like visuals (including glossy effects, glows, etc) tend to be common and will often be smaller. Exercise go with Dreamweaver, but although it helps me on occasion. I could only use notepad (or alternative programs like it) basically wanted to. The choices say that " your WYSIWYG publisher isn’t the difference between a great and bad site" (actually, a lot of bad-looking and badly-preforming sites are created in such editors, because they often scream " lack of willing to research real HTML" plus " I make use of special scripts … Continue reading

Designer vs. Developer

Hi, I am now annoyed by the belief that the designers with our company earns greater expense that us executing their dirty seek advise from it’s ridiculous design. They have a great deal free time that they are winning a contest on the web while us, the actual developers, coders, keyboard munchers, ain’t got spare time because we’re continually busy. Could someone you should make me feel good I’m sure html, tabless, basic php in javascript and knows utilization XML.: devious: ME WANT GOOD LOCATION!!!! You’ll need above basic PHP, lol… Basically when you work for an agency, then you’ll have to work hard to get some good effects. Different story if you develop something all on your own, where you can reap all of the benefits. I’m a new designer, developer and programmer all immediately, so… you must’ve got many free time. hehehe! Well, I am stuck developing html internet pages. blech… i hate static pages… uninteresting… I’m pretty good at PHP if I’ve the manual with me not surprisingly. Without that, MY PARTNER AND I stumped. Hehehe…. it’s also annoying that they’re winning! I like there’s a development contest too! Blech!!! Develop into a senior Java developer, then … Continue reading

My organization is ready to start designing a web site for a project of mine, but I merely don’t know where do you start. I have witnessed various designers, through the years, and I have noticed something they all got in common. Each will seemed to possess a specific style, or many at least. On earth do you guys tell me the method that you got started And the method that you found your design: ermm: We had a discussion some time back about the actual strange phenomenon wherever a website designer for no reason likes the design of his/her site(s). I’ve designed a lot of sites and still need to go back and also change things… I can’t explain that, but it’s just the way it is. A number of people suggested that maybe it’s the quality of time someone consumes designing and developing that lends once more to making the site " boring" or even mundane. In any event, you can locate a free CSS theme (using Google) along with use that template since the backbone to your layout. The design, colors, … Continue reading

Simple online lookup

Greetings many, I was expecting someone might have the capacity to give me quite a few guidance on determing the best solution for my personal next task. You want to create your reasonably simple online look-up database if anyone else is to find a good address / shop location by typing in either their own zip code, point out or country. I have the many data compiled – I just need kid offer it to be able to site users to be a simple search. In essence, the results will have to be: store brand, address, telephone number. It would be cool kid offer a search engine map but it may not be essential. Thanks ahead, Peter Your best solution is to make use of PHP and MySQL (database). Web designer contracts / Securing payments

Hi everyone. I have got a little web style / graphic design company i always run through the myspace account then when I get a fresh customer I normally have them make your deposit of half on the total payment previous to I begin work towards the project, and the other half before I upload your website to their machine. I got this specific idea from additional designers doing identical thing on myspace after finishing work rather than receiving payment, and this is how I’ve done business covering the past year, which has worked fine usually, but I feel that the intent to make that initial downpayment might scare folks away, and I doubt that it is a common way to do business when doing web page design. So, I desired to get other ancestors opinions on how they make certain they will receive cash for their services but don’t scare folks away with offers like large initial money deposited…. I figure many people use contracts, so I had been wondering if any individual could post any links for some good generic web page design contracts out on the internet. Thanks in advance with the help, and WHEN I appologize … Continue reading

sIFR – FINALLY All Fonts Available on the Web!

Check this out: http: //www. mikeindustries. com/blog/sifr/ All these guys are nothing at all short of great. They created the Flash + Javascript component that takes virtually any HTML document and replaces < h*> elements that has a Flash object with the same size comprising rich, beautiful text. What what this means is to us, as designers, is that individuals can design websites that use virtually any FONTS WE NEED, without having to produce images for all of them. Better yet, these pages will be 100% accessible, with sIFR fonts displayed to virtually all web users, plus the remainder simply seeing the default CSS-specified net fonts. HOW COOL IS THIS!! I’m gonna make the first sIFR page tomorrow!: -D All right, I just tested out it out…. really freakin sweet!!! Usually there are some little annoyances distinct to Flash (e. h. can’t copy that sIFR’ed chunks regarding text with the rest of the body), but that’s acceptable. I’ve seen this just before, a couple of prohibited… There was something about it that has been not good (but MY SPOUSE AND I can’t remember). I’ll should re-visit it again. I had never been aware of anything like that, but obviously they … Continue reading
