Hi guys… i hope instant messaging putting this within the right section with the forum. Anyway, i became wondering what trip, dell, alienware, and so on… companys like that use after they make those custimizable laptop or computer options, like either this drop down selections to configure each section of the computer, or the check switches, and then all of it gets tallied up that has a final price. Suggestions for a coder who wants to delve into web ‘design’

Hello everyone, That is my first posting here, so hello! I am here for some suggestions. We’ve a BS in CS and have taken a category or two on web site design but it’s been with a year and We have forgotten most of what I had learned. I use a programming background in addition to am currently working like a web applications developer; I’ve picked way up C#/. NET/SQL plus am loving the item. Every day I am learning cool things and I’d prefer to continue that will explore data-driven web sites. So what the heck am MY SPOUSE AND I here for I have always been weak using the ‘design’/visual/creative elements regarding website creation and wish to know where to start. I am knowledgeable about CSS (don’t recall much, but I know I can get familiar with it again). We’ve used GoLive (code/designer view split), and Adobe ImageReady. I’ve recently gained involvement in learning Flash in the process. I don’t expect to find out complicated animations, but simple ones which could really enhance the planning and appeal on the site. Rookie question from a (less than) rookie designer (MySQL, APACHE, PHP)

Just found a book upon MySQL, APACHE and PHP and it may not be really clear to the relationship among the three. I’m considering designing a data source driven web-site and I feel that I have a decent handle on the MySQL and PHP will be but I’m not really sure if We would like to install APACHE at my PC. Right now, I’m trying to get up and running with MySQL in addition to PHP so I could use the book to undertake the exercises plus learn the requires. I obtain the feeling that APACHE is not required for this which the future coordinator of my web-site will give you that functionality.
