"safe dimensions" when designing for 1024+ res?
Howdy guys, I understand the accepted standard now, which caters to help 800 x NINE HUNDRED screens, is 740 times 460 But from a variety of polls etc on my site Truly determined that the majority my audience reaches 1024 + So I figure, why not design for your and make real estate. Calculating the height is a little more difficult, because that depends upon the browser that visitor is applying, and how many toolbars they’ve. Whether they are choosing large icons and also small icons, contain the " Links" bar showing or when they have downloaded 1 / 3 party toolbar such as the Google toolbar will all make a difference. No scroll 800 X 600 – even possible?!
Greetings all. Here’s my own problem: I’m making the fresh site for my personal church. The man who is essentially directing me informs me that he wants it to fit into an 800 X 600 res minus the window scrolling. He wants the nav for the screen at all times, and he desires a scrolling box to the content. I’ve been enjoyable the man for a little bit with the notion because he would seem really adamant about this, but now Now i’m thinking that it’s more or less impossible. I think just about any normal user of the site will probably have 768 X 1024 as a minimum, so I wish to throw away EIGHT HUNDRED X 600. Can it be just me, or are his goals with this layout unrealistic Looking at the max dimensions at 800 BACK BUTTON 600, the site must fit into some sort of 770 X 430 px common box! Therefore, any idea what I should do or tell him I must mention that dropping him is just not an option.
