I actually write my own ring CMS systems (have done two distinctive ones for two web site designers I work with)… what I tend to find is always that the ones that you get " off that shelf" (like Joomla! or anything else. ) are simply too damn complicated for many end users… they want to gain something specific normally and if you write your own you can provide them with that.
