I graduated on the art institude of Houston lots of years ago. Although it assisted fuel my interest it did little in the manner of preparing me for your career in webdesgin though I have a certain amount in multimedia/webdesign. Many people taught a training on HTML, somewhat on CSS, and also made me knowledgeable that javascript and perl existed. As well, any instruction I got in the manner of design ended up being haphazard at greatest. Of course my personal class was the initial to go though this new program since webdesign was an innovative field when i started the program back in 1999. Im sure that instruction has improved and the curriculum has tightened up and you are still working with a subject that changes on a regular basis and trying to discover instructors who understand the material well enough to develop your curriculum is hard at best.

Specalize in a single area but learn or at the very least become familar having others. Network in your peers and work off from eachothers strengths. But if your design skills are much better than your coding competencies, team up with a code raccoon, and also visa versa.
I doubt you will learn much around school than what you already know… unless Zeldman is definitely teaching then I would get my booty around there: laugh:
Seriously, look at sites displayed on CSS show site like CSSMania, CSSRemix and the likes. Check out this trends and replicated them on your and evolve with these. Don’t think you get all this stuff down inside a month. Work on it and similar to glyakk said above
So School is not the way to go in this field eh This really is quite strange and also I do feel its also accurate. Any books or tutorials which you would recommend WE guess I consider myself a step above beginners level and also a step below second time beginners level for XHTML and CSS now.
