Hi! I’m working on a final project for my Website development class and Now i’m on overload for information. I’m hoping someone here can assist answer a dilemma…. I need to feature a navigation program with graphic rollovers. I’m in the Dreamweaver and I know I can fill out an application a rollover, but when I’m asked for original and rollover photograph, I’m really uncertain what I’m suppose to utilize. I created my own bar in Photoshop and I’m wanting to insert it straight into my index but not sure what I’m to feature for the rollover. As well, if I require the nav pub on every page of my web-site, shouldn’t I put it within the template Thanks a number of! In true of DW, yes make sure you put the nav bar inside template. The basic concept of a DW template is usually to provide a sole file for common elements that is changed site-wide with very little trouble as probable. Today, if you’re discussing using the DW Javascript program code… don’t. Your teacher will likely be confused by that, but the methods I’m on the verge of show you works in more cases versus the Javascript method … Continue reading

To JQuery .load my whole site or not?

Hello, I have 2 ideas to the design of my site. One functions JQuery’s. load to place each page right into a div without reloading the complete page. The other reloads the entire page to get the content. I will go into additional depth on the ideas and then please give my home your opinion for a designer and/or web traveler. Option ONE: JQuery This would certainly load index. php while using header, left list, and main written content. As links are pressed from the left menu the primary content is supplanted using JQuery in addition to only that sections is reloaded. Using this the url bar always stays from index. php since only the content material section is up-to-date. Option ONLY TWO: Full Reload This would certainly load index. php while using header, left list, and main written content. As links are pressed from the left menu being full page would end up being reloaded and replaced using the new page. Using this the url bar would change from index. php to be able to newpage. php. Thank you to your opinions and responses. SkaFreaks Method 2, with Selection 1 as… effectively, an option. Everyone and anything would see … Continue reading

WordPress Plugins for Dating Sites

Hi, I know I’m new these, so sorry with the kinda weird newbie post. Anyway, I’m making (or as a minimum, trying to! ) produce new dating web site, except I suck on coding. So unsurprisingly Now i’m using WordPress to generate it and I’m attempting to find a good plugin to deal with the whole admin side from the dating site, including user approval, memberships, subscriptions and so on. I can’t find much for the wordpress forums so I thought I would ask around to discover if anyone possesses any suggestions in this (Preferably free, I know, I’m a cheapskate). I did find one wordpress tool here: bestdatingsites. org/dating-websites which looks like maybe it’s pretty good, and definitely seems to be free, but actually I really do not know. I’ll probably supply this a make sure to see how it applies to now. In the actual meantime, any suggestions you could have would also become hugely appreciated. Thanks! There are scripts with this, no reason to utilize wordpress, if you could get wordpress running on the server, it must be just as easy to acquire something like " A-Dater Pro" running against your server.

How are you designing??

We are greatly familiar considering the 960 grid method. I have even seen the 976 grid system we might start changing too. BUT i was wondering considering the better resolution monitors and that min these times is 1280 x 1024 do you guys design for higher resolutions I love going with this wider monitors. Sometimes fluid, or WE stay around THOUSANDS OF. I do believe it’s just an individual preference. You need to also duplicate on least portion of your site with regard to small scale rendering… mobile devices. Interesting how we previously worked so hard to upgrade from 15in monitors to be able to 20in monitors… but now we’re going to tiny mobile products. I do believe it’s a plot through the younger people who definitely have good eyes… and keep us older individuals from using them. Without reading a pair of glasses, the ipod itouch is pretty much useless in my opinion. The iPod Nano… just ignore it. . lol, thats why we’d design for the device. Sorry my old friend, us adolescents are taking about I was using 960gs for a long time, but I not too long ago dropped the construction thing altogether. Now I simply … Continue reading

Point me in the right direction please.

Some friends and I might like to do some online video tutoring. We choose to have our Skype names on a website that lets our customers to visit them, pay the particular tutoring fee by way of paypal etc, after which it connects to help us. We are inside different dorm rooms but want to be accessed from a single website. If there may be already a product that might handle this(or something much like this) please point me from the right direction. Various other ideas, including someone who may wish to take on the following project, are allowed. Thanks for ones replies. I’d personally start by looking at a customer program script (or service). This one is an executable program you install on your pc: http: //www. chat4support. com/live_chat. asp They support Skype chatting live with a customer. That is a same thing since tutoring a university student, instead of handling an individual support issue. But it might not be free for the particular multiple tutors… and you will have to create the scripting for you to enable the " connect with chat" features, in conjunction with PayPal. Sort of your big project But as scholars, you should be … Continue reading

Is a ‘Different’ design concept better ???

This might be too general a question to anticipate an answer via but here goes.. I am in the deal of getting quotes from companies to get a 4 page website which includes. ne at top and sql at the back. The site shall be used by health-related staff who admit they aren’t computer experts! The three designs that have come back are usually all nice but one of these uses ExtJS desktop which can be radically different. ( notice dev. sencha. com/deploy/ext-4. 0. 0/examples/desktop/desktop. html page ) We have shown it by some friends and several say thats great cos its different, others have said why have a very website that appears like a desktop What do people think I love the simplicity connected with say apple. com but just undecided about the desktop What a concept that will lead to confusion IMHO. I’ve seen a niche site here and there that has been built like that, but I wouldn’t undertake it myself. People will exchangeable their desktops with the " website" pc, and that’s simply just too radical a new concept. Thanks to the comment. I think you happen to be right. I have a different website design … Continue reading

What is the most simplistic way to fade images into each other?

unchanging with overflow, look free to close/lock, with thanks In a word… no. jQuery is approximately the simplest, most lightweight way you can apply this. If it’s causing these kinds of effect, then the client’s PC has to be upgraded. It’s of which simple. There is no CSS/XML implementation to try and do this. As long as the image execution goes, the best thing you can apply is set the width and height within your image container to check the size within your first image and also overflow: hidden. I will do this Thanks a lot for your expertise. No probs, dude. I just didn’t want that you waste time searching the best solution once you already have. I’ve made the overflow changes, and it helpful on my conclude.

Help with Browser Compatibility!!

Good day, MY SPOUSE AND I designed and made a theme with regard to my WordPress website/blog applying Dreamweaver. Since I uploaded the positioning to the dwell server yesterday, I’ve noticed several browser compatibility issues created and have no clue how to correct them. I’ve changed a number of the CSS code around hoping to solve the problem that way, but nothing seems to be effective. The best site until now is Firefox; I’ve truly noticed little in order to no glitches. Internet explorer, however, is a different story. It appears that whenever WE zoom the page above 100%, my right sidebar moves to the left forcing the primary content div to go down. Another problem We have noticed on a few other browsers is that a number of the text in this content div moves slightly on the left underneath my own left sidebar, suitable where that sidebar div label ends. I have no idea why this is actually happening and would love some input on easy methods to fix this. Let me know if you’re more dedicated posting the CSS right here would help, though it’s from the site’s source signal. Any assistance will be HUGELY appreciated!! The … Continue reading

How to Create a Shopping Cart?

Hi there, everyone. I’m new plenty of to web development to not know how web-site designers go about making shopping carts. I’ve researched this kind of and found some strategies to building them, such as creating them from 100 % pure code using PHP/MySQL or using a ecommerce CMS. I wanted to give it a shot myself so I attempted to work with PHP/Mysql and thought many other designers should be utilizing a quicker method to build shopping carts. Now I’m considering using a CMS nonetheless from what I have seen, they look tough to customize on the ‘shop’ section on the site; what with the need to scan pages of code to be able to alter it for your own design as well as content. Unless I’m using them drastically wrong. Just how do most designers create shopping carts to their sites Depends on the client plus the cart and any with the customizations. Under absolutely circumstances will i use an off-the-shelf CMS to construct an e-commerce site. The lack of security linked to open source is enough by itself to generate me want to perform from that just like the plague. WE usually use ASP as well as … Continue reading
