Do visitors generally care if you log things like screen resolution?

I just wrote some signal that basically brings some JavaScript right after the body tag of the page that creates a new cookie with this user’s screen res, so I will find out the typical screen resolution pertaining to my visitors. The JavaScript is due to plain view, and the candy bar isn’t obfuscated at all. My question can be will this likely bother anybody I suspect that you will discover privacy nazis on the market, and I’m wondering only should worry in relation to them. This website does get plenty of hits.

Absolutely no.

Very good put transio.

Certainly, there are this conspiracy theorists around who will think you are up to something, but I doubt you’ll even run around them.
But res needs to be low even with their list.

Thanks on your replies.

Even though I can’t picture someone actually care, my dad is actually a privacy nazi. Being based on one, I instictively become more aware of them when WHEN I do things. He probably even now has JavaScript switched off and his visitor alerting him for each cookie, and he loves the modern Vista features this ask permission before you decide to do almost anything of consequence. Hmm.. perhaps I should require him this concern, and see just what he actually affirms..

Honestly the majority probably won’t also notice. I’m positive I wouldn’t. So no, no bother.

People won’t have high of a reason for you to argue. The often send stuff including browser agents and also referrals, their private IP, etc… resolution means almost nothing compared to that stuff (yeah, you can modify those stuff with tools, but then again, would anyone trouble modifying their tv screen resolution) So altogether, I think it is fine.

Bejesus, I store lots more stuff, We have a script this runs every 30 seconds to see the server that they are still connected, We have a mouse tracker script (generate density road directions of clicks in addition to hovers), and loads more things which people might be frightened of.

But do not forget that if someone visits an affiliate site, then the site has the many rights to record what a computer owner does so long as its noted somewhere within the site’s Privacy Scheme (although, of training, big things needs to be alerted before these are recorded).
