Me along with a friend are make presentation about horror movies being a school project. This really is of course enjoyment and all that, but unfortunately, we don’t know much about style. The current plan could be to have the presentation take advantage of this picture as the background. We’d like to keep a consistent feeling how the presentation is something from your good old times of horror — worn, grainy, yellowish and stuff like that, you know
I am aware of that it’s pretty tricky to produce something look professional having a dark background, what I’m wondering are these claims:
What colors could well be good for textual content
Where should we squeeze nav-bar, and should the idea be a horisontal or maybe a vertical one should we keep it separate through the pages by adding a border to both of them
Know make available trick to help make stylish and worn out buttons
In general though, I pretty much only want to know what we ought to avoid so the whole thing doesn’t resemble, well, crap.
A thousand thanks before hand!
I’d make a light background to place dark text about, it just form of helps I believe.
Something just like what I’ve done at http: //bob. warpspire. com (although Now i am not exactly happy at how ours has turned out there =/)
In making some worn buttons I’d get some rough, dirty brushes in Photoshop (my manager of choice), move through and randomly create a savings fund brush as a great eraser, and next some black/white coloring and differnet opacities. I did this to accomplish this effect, which they may be to me you’re pursuing.
Things avoid Putting white text with the different color portions of that background (like include text purely around that image). It’s safe to watermark it or even something else.
what sort of presentation power stage
: -p
That image can be good for the title page, but I think most effective for you hard to understand text on that will background. White text will probably be easy to read on the black portions belonging to the image, but not about the lighter areas.
It’s safe to guess Flash, although they may be using the modern Flex (which appearance really freakin cool)
HUH Why are you all asking what they may be using He’s only told you he is using Macromedia Overseer! Or maybe Now i’m interpreting " We want to put this combined with Macromedia Director" an untrustworthy way!
lol will probably,
I think you can have that image since the background, and then go move to the ideal so that onyl one half is displayed and the text appears while in the newly created major black space for the left.
just a concept.
I think your navigation would loook excellent as normal copy (but bigger or another type of font or color to stand out) after which whe you mouseover these people it splits within half or appears to get been cut or wounded in some way. Dunno, can’t really think of anything journey top of my head at this time, sorry.
I’m sure a whitey cream is good for copy, or a deeper brown. as long since you can read it.
Best of luck, seems like a motivating project.
Thanks a great deal guys, this seemed to be really helpful!
With your suggestions in thoughts, I made an electronic " sketch" of the possible look for the presentation. It was prompted heavily by Brak’s web-site (I hope you no longer mind, Brak) but it looks like. Please give opinions – but prior to do, keep in mind that is made by the sixteen year old senior high school kid having the first go ever previously at design thereby the aesthetical targets aren’t really that high for this thing. (In different words, find a great way to notify me if the idea sucks. )
Also creating the sketch gave me a couple more questions I would like to ask a person:
Of saving time, I chose to work with simple Director-created text rather then photoshopped buttons. And often see, the text message is gray, but I would like it to change color whenever you place the cursor more than it. Know every simple script this does this
The article part is a text box placed with a filled rectangle and for that reason the image into the left isn’t tormented by the scroll icon. I want it to be though, as I want every single child place more images since the text continues. Knowledge I can complete this

However, if you were wondering: The language included in the presentation is actually Swedish. The pictures along at the top are snap-shots at a short slasher movie we built to use as the intro. " Skrck" is usually swedish for " Horror" along with, no, " Bla" is not really a swedish concept. Oh, and that hand thingy holding a knife may be the cursor: devious:.
Well, that’s all at the moment, I think. Thanks again for many your help!
Oops, MY PARTNER AND I almost forgot… I make use of this script to help make the hand replace the conventional cursor:
at exitFrame the locH involving sprite 21 = the particular mouseH the locV involving sprite 21 = the particular mouseV end
For quite a few strange reason this particular places the cursor beneath the scroll pub, like this. Besides does this appear stupid, but Now i am also having problem " aiming" because the actual pointer is in the center of the cursor instead of at the edge belonging to the knife (where this logically should be). Knowledge I can repair this.
