Need Help SLICING — Help Please!!

Heya all. Well, I’m okay using the graphical side of website development, I know basically nothing of coding. I went and designed this website, I read a lot of slicing tutorials and I just now can’t get it right, not just that, I don’t know how to handle it once I upload it to Dreamweaver.

I had been wondering if anybody could please slice the website for me. That is definitely all. I’ve been looking for it done for approximately three weeks now and I merely can’t get them. I’m really having to get it executed. Thanks. I’d plan to send through MSN/AIM/Email absolutely.. or upload somewhere to get downloaded.

As long as I know, slicing won’t have almost any effect to occasion loads. Meaning, even though you slice the image enough time to load your website is definitely the same.. But in case you still want in order to slice the photograph, you could deliver me an e-mail and I’ll try that can assist you as best as I could.

Slicing probably have a (tiny) effect on the image sizing’s, but will likely slow things down due to multiple resource requests on the server. So I’d claim reduce the images to as few as possible…

Workout for slicing:

1- Determine which elements of your page will possibly be images (regular or maybe background) and which ones will be HTML.
2- Utilize guides to aid determine where you want your lines.
3- You wish to make as few slices as it can be so keep your elements in accordance with each other.
4- In case you have multiples of an element where they all must be the same dimension, use a predetermined size marquee or perhaps exact-pixel grid. Such as a nav of menus that may be not HTML-generated.
5- You’ll be able to create slices dependant on guide-lines. If you are doing this, make sure to visit back and combine slices to be one piece.
6- If you know nothing about hand-coding web design and you may be using the automatically generated code, make a slice through the bottom of your page. This helps buffer against expansions.
7- Before you open Dreamweaver, create a color palette with all the current hex values of your colors. I know with GoLive you’ll be able to import color palettes, I’m not sure about Dreamweaver mainly because I haven’t used it because merge. If you cannot import them, at the very least you have many of the hex values available as one spot.

Please let us finish this publish by saying slicing is a method to prepare images to get a website. The HTML generated by slicing is obscene. Nested furniture, inline styles, spacer gifs… These should be avoided at most costs!

Because of this , why I am slicing at the start. The fact I have no idea anything about coding usually, I slice in order that it exports the HTML and I could open it straight into Dreamweaver.

Quite simply, I need help being capable of get turn the website in to a.. website. It’s designed for a graphic, hence why I had been slicing it. Anyone that will help All I’m attempting to do is have the site prepared intended for content, so I could fill in that content, upload, and put it to use. I just don’t realize how to get it fot it point.

This indicates whenever I peel and import to Dreamweaver, there’s one thing wrong. I don’t realize how to do tables or perhaps anything.

And this I was declaring in my line, the one everyone pulled. Basically, slicing up a strong image and importing it into Dreamweaver will build a very messed up website. Unless you already know HTML, it is very difficult to alter the code that may be generated into a little something functional.

I’m likely to stop for a second to ask you for clarification…

Slicing an image is usually breaking it along into multiple images. There’s no HTML involved in slicing. Do you need assist in the slicing or do you need help coding Are you wanting someone to take action for you or are you interested the tools to perform it yourself

I think I might want help on the slicing and coding. I think I’m slicing that right, I aren’t, I can’t actually tell. I be aware that it matters in order to an extent the way I do. Such as, if I have a content box, the side borders would need to be sliced so should the table stretched the idea looked right.

I designed the website completely 100% throughout Fireworks.

Anyways, when I move it and heap it into Dreamweaver as well as add content on the designated content areas and they stretch, it messes lots of things up.

Screenshot 1
Screenshot 2

The pictures are examples of what happens when one of the boxes stretch. I also are not aware of if I’m even doing work right when I commence to add content. As soon as I load that into Dreamweaver, WE click the family table, delete the graphic, replace the picture this was there as the particular background image and I could type over the idea. I don’t know if that’s a problem, at the same time. All I did to screenshot #2 was press Enter several times in the massive content box.

I virtually realize nothing about website development other than what I could do graphically.

I want to indicate this tip from my first article:

What’s happening could be the table that has the pieces within the left and the content for the right is extending length-wise. You should add a < tr> on the bottom of the table that features both columns. That way, when you add content on the right, the piece within the left stays place

Oh neat. Would I should do the slice or to add teh tag on the bottom of the table that includes both

That depends on your skills. If you know how to accomplish the tag, that may be quicker as compared to re-slicing.
