phpBB2 (Designing templates)

HI, I got a new phpBB2 board and now have spent the last day or two adding new MODs to it. Now I am bored of all the coding, I choose to try making a new template for my forum

Does anyone here learn how to do it Or maybe know of every tutorials around that we could have a look at

Anything can be appreciated.

Thanks,
Daniel Oliver.

All of the templates are around. tpl files… IME it’s a pain inside ass to handle so… good fortune haha. I significantly prefer invision regarding skinning.

hi buddy… you can do it withing handful of hours…

just head to… templates folder….

" skinsilver" are going to be there… there you will end up find…. tpl information…

these are just html data with. tpl extentions…

and change or create your own personal images located around images directory throughout template…

cellpic. gif
cellpic1. gif
cellpic2. gif
cellpic3. gif

in your own colors…

and also change overall_header. tpl
and also change overall_footer. tpl

files and you will done 60% done

best of luck

It’s not easy and simple nor the complicated job to modify your skin.

If you examine the overall_template. tpl file you could find the stylesheet presently there. Play around with this to come up with the colour scheme that suits you. You’ll also have to edit simple_header. tpl because containing it’s own stylesheet as well.

The particular pages themselves usually are tables spanning overall_header. tpl, whatever_page. tpl and also overall_footer. tpl.

The table is usually started in header and also finishes in footer – if you paste header, index and footer in one file you may see how all of it works.

hi mossoi…

as i know you and Dan

i can say that you and him can change theme the next day… it’s gaurantee…

it’s very easy job where phpbb concern… when i can’t say related to others because when i never used other people…
