Rule / ruler that measures Pixels?

We now have just begun designing some websites and since we print out our designs for our web developers to create this sites we thought that it might be handy if there seemed to be a rule/ruler that will measures Pixels to assist them.

Does any one else think this may be a good idea

Will there be one already available

Would any web designs choose a ruler that options Pixels handy whenever they are designing his or her websites

: vintage:

Well, I don’t believe one exists, just because a pixel is an unit that exists only as part of your computer. It machines accordingly to paper.

What I do is utilize a special template. I’ve made a strong image containing your blank space which has a complete ruler around it, plus many extras like " that 760px mark" in addition to " average early screen height". Since I prefer to sketch ahead of designing, I utilize this paper to lay out the site. I suppose you can also reverse this.

Thanks on your reply. We’ll try out that too. We just notion that if all of us had a guideline / ruler associated with some sort along with pixels on it could allow us to measure instances our artwork pertaining to accuracy. Does a pixel size then change from screen to filter Does, for model, an 800 by 600 pixel web page design vary in size when it can be printed depending for the printer

AFAIK, not determined by the printer, but on what scale you impress it. Images are only a long list of pixels (and each one pixel owning some sort of color), which means there is no actual size presently there. The same monitor can display together at 800×600 and also 1024×768, without changing the type of the display screen itself.

I’m quite confident it has to do with the DPI on the image. Print-going photos usually go at about 300dpi and also so, easily achievable which has a printer. I’m not a specialist, though, so you should not take my word on it. Consider what wikipedia has to say.

Certainly, pixels-per-inch vary via screen to screen, or even about the same screen in case you change your solution. For that reason, the only " pixel ruler" you could create would have to be an application that someone can drag around at his screen. It might be a pretty nice tool, though.

You can find one associated together with Yahoo Widgets, and several more. are likely available.
