Some Basic Questions

Hi all,

I’m new into the web and I’m trying to design forms that could give me registration information regarding users. I’m using Dreamweaver MX to help me out, but I would like to know more in regards to the language I should use to create my forms speak with the server. I’d also want to know how I may store this tips & whether it’d possibly be possible to store the posted information from a database on your server.

I am getting some baby steps here but Lets hope that I is able to learn, over the subsequent few months, how to get my can i interact with the actual database and to update information inside the database from my website also to view the updated data from there too.

If anybody can tell me how to begin to move in this direction, I’d personally be most gracious.

Well how I found can be through PHP. It took me only a few days to learn enough to complete what you will be after, and it’s a very useful terminology. The only thing you’ll need is your server that they are running PHP or else your code shouldn’t get executed. Try http: //www. php. net with the manual or the search engines some tutorials.

Enjoy,
Li Brad

Why don’t you consider ASP & CGI What are advantages/disadvantages of these kinds of

Thanks with the iinformation, I should certainly follow it upward, but if there are actually any other ideas, please let me personally know

Sam

I’m uncertain about them, maybe someone in addition knows I found PHP a breeze to learn and it is quite popular on the web today. I did a dash of ASP learning, but stuck to PHP as it was easier to master.

when i do mainly asp right now, but i’m understanding php. php can be free, easy, plus much more ‘clean’ overall. It will also run about any platform, whilst asp only extends on windows computers.

also take a look at mysql databases, as they work flawlessly by using php, and can be free.

is it possible to tell me slightly about mysql databases

Does this have much related to Microsoft’s SQL or could it be an independent thing

Thanks with the information about php, I shall give it a hunt

Furthermore, are available any security (or other) issues or disadvantages connected to using MySQL

SQL = Structured Query Language.

MySQL is a totally free open-source option that every host on earth uses.

Microsoft SQL can be a product that MS introduced to work well on IIS servers (afaik).

There are protection risks in anything on the web, but MySQL, when used properly, is just not an insecure database in the least. The insecurities are actually introduced in the particular PHP script employed to talk to your database.

Another great method to learn PHP is in store www. hotscripts. com and obtain a script that does what you need it to carry out, and look with the code. If that you do not understand what something does, check php. net sale.

As well, you may wish to pick up a PHP book. I bought this book and thought it turned out great.

Erm… okay… stupid question from your newbie…

Do you need PHP with any flash website

I’m assuming you are able to… like if I need to send Form info into a spreadsheet Which can be done in flash, very… right

Lol… I’m a graphic designer by deal so I’m looking for ways to well versed within the more technical material.

There’s just a whole lot to learn. But I intend on picking up a new PHP book shortly as I may eventually wish to build an online forum all of which probably have individual info forms at future websites.

Gives thanks!
Bonnie.
