New to web design. Basic question.
Hello there, I am just trying to develop a webpage depending on a book given in my experience by my sister for a Chrristmas gift after some duration ago. The trouble I will be having is how you can include pictures. Next time i load it into the browser, I simply get small rectanbgles along with X’s in them. I tried dimension them, but this didn’t help. I’m pretty sure I gave it the best path. Any suggestions George Basically, your paths are certainly not correct, they consult files on your disk drive, not on the particular server. Ones code: < IMG SRC=" D: \Documents and Settings\George OBrien\Desktop\tone injector\" PICT0020. jpg" > proper code: < img src=" PICT0020. jpg" > (if the image is the same directory as the page on your server) as well as: < img src=" images/PICT0020. jpg" > (if the image is a directory identified as " Images" around the server. ) I’m going to hazard a estimate and say you are using Dreamweaver for your site – this has become the more common faults that occurs by using DW – I wish Thought about the time to help post a clearer explanation of your – … Continue reading

Please help with a very simple website design question
Howdy everyone, I’m very fresh to creating by myself websites and I want to begin on simple. I choose to create a extremely basic website which contains a static text box, an output text box and a button. No bells, absolutely no whistles, not even any colors. The function of the button will be to produce a random sentence (taken from your list I have) then display it in the Output text field. Please see the particular attached image for any visual depiction. How do you go about doing this Any help can be much appreciated. Thanks for any help in advance! If you can afford it becoming a flash page and then this simple tutorial will let you displaying data from an index of strings http: //www. kirupa. com/developer/actionscript/xmldataflash. htm Adobe flash… sigh… At any rate, you should find a way find a randomly quote generator easily enough on google. Orrrr… you could find out a server-side programming language which has a random number function (which pretty well they all do), have the many quotes in any database, and pick a random estimate. Something like what I did with the bowling alley site (pro shop). That can be done … Continue reading

lilnking issues
simply bought a structure from templatemonster and can not learn how to link to anything to the page. The template can be a JS animated design and style and was developed all on 1 page and uses anchor tags – which must be very simple suitable Cant get any in the main pages to help link. I have tried and tried for getting their tech help to answer my questions but the keep sending us tutorials on the way to create < a new href> links……. urggghhhh. WHEN I absolutely hate replicated and pasted responses.. here’s the site: http: //www. coreypatt. com/Website-new/site/index. html# examine the about site – the links cannot work…. either can the " study more" links for the main images. I do think its something uncomplicated Im overlooking as well as its a JS challenge…… Any suggestions can be most appreciated….. gives thanks!!! You’re getting generic answers because that is certainly all someone like that can provide you with in a situation like this. You’re not seriously asking the issue clearly. So section of that is on you. Section of that is with them, too, because looking at the site value would quickly solve this. I’m assuming … Continue reading

increasing page speed
I desire to leverage browser caching to increase page speed. I’ve done some research with this and it seems like max-age and and last-modified are great choices, but I’m unclear on tips on how to determine which files I should implement as it. In general, I’m confused on tips on how to actually do that and what the particular code would mimic in my htaccess. I guess I’m looking to get some more explicit help or be shown some examples. Or maybe anyone can direct me to some lesson/tutorial on this than a novice like us can understand, we haven’t had any luck finding. Any help out of someone who knows more about max-age and last-modified which enable it to help tell me how to accomplish this would be drastically appreciated. http: //www. askapache. com/htaccess/apache-speed-last-modified. html code < — put on do you.

How to do this?
I’d like to make an ad similar to this: http: //forum. notebookreview. com/ (disable adBlock previous to viewing) Thank you. The most simple method would be to make a splash page ype with deal, and the ‘skip’ button leads to your actual internet page. More difficult option is that will reverse the lightbox jQuery plug-in, as well as load the pop-up at pageLoad, then help it become close once a person click the ‘skip’ hyperlink. 3 rd option: make a div having a z-index of a great deal that covers an entire page (and includes the ad), and write jquery in which changes it’s presence to hidden when you click the ‘skip’ hyperlink. That’s a good idea, the jQuery 1 – I’m not attached to splash pages. Well the advertisement is simply a splash web page, so you’re planning to hate it anyway. Best bet will be just jQuery don’t need lamp, just a div that contains the ad as well as code like this HTML Code: < div id=" advertisement" > Listing code here < the href=" #" id=" closethead" > Close< /a> < /div> Code: < script type=" text/javascript" > $(document). ready(function() $(‘#advertisement’). show(); ); $(‘#closethead’). click(function() $(‘advertisement’). … Continue reading
