I merely got my site 100% valid XHTML JUST ONE. 0. And many was fine along with merry. It displayed nicely on all browsers and I got happy. Now immediately I added some sort of link somewhere while in the page and these have completly messed it all up. It can be fine in Firefox, that’s a surprise. This occassion the problem is within IE. Can anyone look at www. danieloliver. net on Web Explorer and view what they think can be wrong I cannot find anything. TDs in place for grabs. Desprete. Regards, Daniel Oliver. i’m getting lost down the middle of your tds and image names devoid of meaning, it looks like IE is attempting to give the cell a height cost, try setting the value yourself if an individual didnt already, try deleting the actual link and determine if it corrects the situation. I managed delete the connection. I compeltly re-did it all. And its removed really strange. Tried what people said but didnt often work. I have read that using tables for layout is technically the wrong way to add content with a web page knowning that something like 70% of websites are impractical just for this. I can pattern anything in illustrator regarding web floor plans and i discover how to optimize images. Its just next time i slice it and also open it around dreamweaver, i don’t discover how to add content, as well as if i could, how to position it wherever i need to without the entire layout screwing up like it normally does. Can someone make sure you give me some pointers or link me to some tutorial on that subject. I’ve searched significantly and havn’t located specific info about this. Ta before hand: > p. ersus are sigs granted IMO, that thing regarding tables being an untrustworthy way to add content and that 70% of websites are impractical because of it – full rubbish! Width of content area
Each time a site has some sort of fixed-width content area that is definitely centered in the particular browser window, will be optimal width of their area I know this is mostly a matter connected with opinion, but I’m curious what individuals think. For instance, check out http: //www. mcsweeneys. net/, which is just about the narrowest I’ve found. And there’s this url, which has your pretty wide subject matter area. I’m trying to decide on that width of my personal internet site, which is the following: http: //nocloset. net/. At the moment it’s set on 551px. Any opinions can be welcome. Trouble with a fixed-width content area is, even when it looks ultra-wide to help someone on 800×600 res, someone with 1280×1024 (or, the almighty forbid, 1600×1200) can think it’s tiny. This is exactly why even in these cases it becomes good to look at a percentage. Your first example, I do think, is far far too narrow — excessive scrolling for me. Your second model isn’t linked in. Your site is seen as a little wider, I do think. My second model was literally this url (webdesignforums. net)! These have a fixed width for that content area that … Continue reading
