Everything else just gets too complicated or you will find too many compatibility issues. linking to images

Can easily anyone tell me how I can link to all my images in a new css documanet employing: qualifications: url(IMAGELINK) no-repeat; This works fine for that top banner of my site (and it really is obviously easier to help update images this particular way) but when i try to use it for all the other images in my site apart from show up.
