Can I make cool looking text

Hi guys We are need of a number of help, I wish to know if its possible for making cool text like which makes it look 3D, employ a shadow, reflection. POST m just wanting to use the software program for.. maybe a A model in 3d globe or a few cool 3d text message but need the software to own bundles of online models premade i always may purchase as well.. ive used bryce and also poser.. but believe those are more landscape/figure oriented.. anyone know anyting regarding lightwave or carrara my spouse and i see 3d max has quite a number of models.. well any suggestions on this many thanks.
