newbie html scolling text Q

Sorry with the newbie question!… I’m trying to puzzle out how to place a layer that contains text which might be scrolled with those people little up/down scrollers. I’m very green still on the subject of code and are doing well up to this point and not jump in the deep end. I’m in the dreamweaver mx. Is there code that we can just message in and fine-tune the x/y placement and dimensions or would it be more involved I’ve truly really got simply no idea how to get this done, yet it’s used usually in websites…. support Code: … < head> < type type=" text/css" media=" screen" > #scroll bigger: 400px; height: 600px; /* discretionary */ position: utter; left: (x)px; major: (y)px; /* finish */ overflow: crash; border: 1px sound black; < /style> < /head>… < div id=" scroll" > Once this text overflows the dimentions scollbars will become active. Once this text overflows the dimentions scollbars will become active. Once this text overflows the dimentions scollbars will become active. etc < /div> You could basicly insert your < div> block from a table cell, then you definitely could delete the actual lines encircled together with /* optional */; … Continue reading

Any advise looks like it’s the " direction=’up’" part but I don’t understand how to work around this… Are you when using the marquee tag If so, it will definitely not work in Netscape… this tag has been created by Ms for Internet Explorer and also has never been part of HTML per se. I’ve done loads of graphics work ahead of, so I’ve became the visual finish down. I’ve also got a little bit experience w/ web page design — I’ve made some basic HTML sites before and one using ImageReady instruction online my school times. And so my question is— With the amount of scripting languages and also what not out there, how do you decide which one to dive into CSS appears promising… I like the idea of seperating style & content material (less code, sooner loading pages, higher search results rankings). Would I small number that w/ XHTML Or can i go with CODE & JavaScript Or what about a server-side script such as PHP Or can i just go which includes a WYSIWYG editor, for instance Dreamweaver Does Dreamweaver output decent / wash code Thanks for every and all assistance! Centreing A Web Page?

Hi guys, Im rather new to website design and I appeared to be just wondering how I’d go about Centreing my website Because at the moment it sits with the very left of the page and seems to be rather bad when it can that, I need it centred like that for example: www. clan-thr. com Thanks beforehand. -Dan Initially welcome to WDF. Add this code in your CSS file: Code: body text-align: core; margin: 0 crash; Thanks a whole lot man! This proved helpful really well! Your website looks good now Thanks -Dan Embarresing, although whats the CSS record A cascading down style sheet. It is an external file with a. css extension that is definitely called by the webpage that types the webpage. http: //www. w3. org/Style/CSS/ A small adjustment + justification… The particular minicodetext-align: center/minicode is just not necessary. Doing this may make all the text around the html page based unless otherwise chosen. When you use two values in CSS, it is for positioning, the best one is for that second one is perfect for. So by adding minicodemargin: 0 crash; /minicode you’re saying start with the top, and core horizontally. This will apply at background-position … Continue reading

Resizing Page Design to fit User’s Display

Hi guys.. So My business is fairly new to web site design and I constructed a website with lots of DIV layers more than one frames. The site sometimes appears here: THEY WOULD. 264 Productions However, the site doesnt load want it does on my computer- Many people have the site procrastinated to the right instead of centered, some people with smaller screens have bottom half not available with a scroll standard added. Is there virtually any quick fix or best option about making it and so the site is viewed centered, and resizes for virtually any window size May really use some help with this issue- Please allow me to know how I’ll get this to return up centered as well as fitting into anyones window! Merci Sam You’ve got a mess on both hands with absolute placing. You may wrap everything which includes a div and present it margin: 0 crash; in the css as well as the appropriate width. You’re not going to get it to resize with screens. It can’t end up being fixed without a lot of work, a lot of to post these. You can view one of my web pages in my collection … Continue reading

Best ‘Find and Replace’ program for Win 7?

Greetings guys, I’m new to the present forum, I was curious about which program you have to find in addition to replace text in multiple HTML records. I’m now making use of Windows 7 as well as the several that POST tried are either difficult to work with, or crash with Win 7. I used to use BK Replace’em after i was on EXP, but its successor, ‘Replace Text’, crashes in Windows 8 on my LAPTOP. I am aware that Notepad++ (which I use for anyone my coding) features a ‘Replace in file’ command, but it merely gives me one particular line to key in the HTML I need to find in addition to replace, and won’t possibly accept pasted various lines properly from the ‘Replace’ field. Normally I could well be selecting a couple of lines of HTML CODE and replacing them with a few lines, or vice versa. I can’t do either worth mentioning with any relieve in Notepad++. Any help will be much appreciated, I’ve wasted a strong afternoon downloading and testing out different programs, with no success. Any of the people programs will do the job, but you really need to set them to perform in … Continue reading
