Need guidance on site re-build

I’m gonna re-build an active site (removing frames.. and giving it a far more modern look). A template continues to be purchased, which possesses javascript & design sheets included. Not currently utilizing a database. Nothing very fancy or sophisticated. My question is: Is there an excellent reference somewhere of how to approach this (things thinking about before starting some sort of rebuild.. how to organize.. what not for you to forget).. or any thinkings or opinions it’s likely you have. It feels a little overwhelming right at this point, and I’d prefer never to screw it ” up “. The site includes about 400 HTML CODE files. Value any pointers. Jayell.

I don’t recognize much about web design now a days, I learnt html page back about Four or five years ago so Allow me to find my approach around but Concerning not kept up when using the newer designing technics I’d like to make my website like that example below http: //www. in-forum. com/ I don’t want everything this way site has although I do wish small areas split up so I can place content as space. Getting back into it and need help

Hello everyone, I used to design a lot back years ago and mostly fretting hand coded but I used a few of the early versions with stuff like coffee cup and dreamweaver and perhaps splash, if it is possible to believe that, but it’s been several years and I’m working on a site and thus much is beyond me ever since I didn’t stay into maintaining. I’m working with a very simple web page, and my first and problem is that I’m just not grasping tips on how to use html and css etc. to produce my pages work in most resolutions. I imply, I know how you can hand code typically, but I get real weak with design sheets. I’ve acquired it where them looks ok, however is not right across websites and resolutions. I can make small adjustments then it will work in firefox however it changes one thing in ie making sure that in a specific resolution it’s fe’d upwards.
