layers

I have been previously designing with Dreamweaver, and We’ve been using layers quite heavily. Is this a negative idea It is a site for a engineering company. Please keep WYSIWYG bashing to somewhat of a minimum. Bless you, I individually use DIVs together with CSS for layering. I need ideas of much about that layer tag, it’s something We’ve never used. Layers are fine make use of, if coupled with all the correct CSS. If it looks ok in the browser keep it going (if it succeeds in IE certainly ).

Can basic HTML and CSS make a good site?/Coding: College or web resources?

I have solely designed a handfull connected with websites since I began self-teaching myself lots of years ago.
