Help with tables

Hi there, I am pretty new to web site design and only discovered HTML within the last week. I have read all the tutorials and understand HTML well in this article and am getting better at JSP and php making sure that I can eventually build a dynamic site. I’m using Dreamweaver to accomplish all this and also am having quite a few trouble. I need to generate a horizontal table for the top and a couple vertical tables upon both sides considering the body of the site at the center. My problem will be; the side stand does not wish to have anything next in order to it. The type promptly starts below that table and typing directly into above it only ends up with the table moving down the page (keep in mind that is in Dreamweaver). I determined I could handcode all-around this by building a giant table within the syntax: HTML: < STAND BORDER=3> < TR> < TD ROWSPAN=2> links< /TD> < TD COLSPAN=2> heading< /TD> < TD COLSPAN=2> body< /TD> < /TR> < /TABLE> This is fine to get a simple homepage, but I desire to implement a news posting system at the center with … Continue reading →

Getting a grip on the idea…

Hi, Ok therefore the idea im having originated an old apple program that handled files and ringbinders bu i cant discover the documentation on them. Basically theres a new structure of files gain access to (all pdf’s) which might be in a style in this way… HOME ________________ Folder Folder Folder _____ ____ _____ Track File File Track File File Ok so it’s just like a tree structure then again its not displayed like this. Picture a floating bubble in teh centre within your screen, the you mouse click on it and much more bubbles appear about it, then once an individual clikc on some of those bubbles it pans over to that section even more bubbles appear around it etc . until you’re with the final directory degree. I’ve probably simply confused everyone over it, i know truly confuse dmyself and i just need some help getting a handle on how i get rolling. Thanks beforehand! Look at this out, a fun and great way of telling you why tables to get layout suck! (insert web page url here) Fully explains everything, even if you could have never written a new block of code before! That’s a normal write-up… I first saw it a couple of years ago. Still excellent, though. A couple of years huh Yeah, yet you’ve seen anything!: -p It’s actually a great technique to get teaching, using bits at the same time. I just thought it could be nice for beginners to getting a grip with tableless array, and see why, not just how.
