Bless you That’s a huge job to make something similar to MySpace. You’re going to need a thorough knowledge of some sort of server side scripting similar to PHP. Really. and the more features you include (blogging, forums, etc), the more complicated it receives. Then again, for me it could get extra-complicated because I’m keen to make general solutions compared to specific ones. Now i am a fan regarding code reuse, what can i say. If you look into your specific needs, you can probably inconveniences some trouble, but it’s still planning to require a strong grounding in PHP, ASP,. will there be a high desire for HTML/CSS/Javascript graphic designers and Flash interactive designers Manged to get this job description coming from a typical Web COUPLE OF. 0 company. I feel i always should invest some time in learning AJAX and new Web 2 . 0. 0 technologies nonetheless I admit We are way underqualified because of this job position. Is the national web industry resulting in a higher require for programming skills If so, then what particular web languages should we figure out how to prepare ourselves several years from now You’ll find that any truly scalable enterprise-grade website will be composed in JSP and also ASP. NET. PHP should be only popular because it really is free, relatively easy to use, and installed on nearly all Linux-based server. You will definitely need to find out Ajax, not just because the cool stuff that can be done with it, but because it’s becoming a lot more common in such sites. Required Skills for a good chance of career in websites

Howdy, I am currently at University or college studying a appropriate course and very interested in websites and creating them and am hoping one day have a career with this field. It is earlier days now and I’ll no doubt uncover what my strengths and also weaknesses are, but what could the pros in here suggest are generally skills I should browse ensure I here’s pretty strong at so that they can have a good chance of a career, as I understand it is a large competitive industry. CSS, Javascript, Ajax, PHP, Adobe flash etc. Many thanks. All in the above are very beneficial, although not most of are necessarily recommended. For example, if you’re going to be employed by a company which uses ASP. NET, you don’t want to know PHP. I work for any company that employs PHP and I have no need to know Flash–we have people that do know them, though. XHTML and CSS are essential, though, and I’d fight that even a designer who just refers to Photoshop should even now know XHTML plus CSS so they know about its limitations whenever creating designs. Yes, it depends on what company you go improve. On the … Continue reading

need REALLY really nice shopping cart system, price doesn’t matter

Hello, We’re planning on switching such a big client up to a new shopping cart system. Many of us need something actually, really nice (and price just isn’t an issue) – Come on , man like, the ability to possess " related products" to accompany each product, suggested items, basically any little " more feature" you could see. And tracking just what exactly customers view is nice too, and an integrated module to mail emails too (although it’s not necessary, we may end up going w/ a 3rd party for that). I need to somehow find shopping cart procedure websites like Victoria’s Solution, American Eagle, and hundreds of big retailers apply. I did somewhat searching and I do believe that Victoria’s Magic formula uses WebSphere (http: //www-306. ibm. com/software/websphere/), but I’d rather practice it in PHP when compared with JSP… So I was hoping there was another fantastic solution out there that’s in PHP as an alternative to JSP. Consequently anyways, what Needed to know will be, does anyone know of any really good buying cart solution that will major retailers use I know there is osCommerce but I didn’t find any really pleasant websites (with purchasing features, and a … Continue reading

Who’s better off?

A designer/developer who succeeds at an interactive ad agency… or a employee the next brick n’ motar community who designs web sites or web apps or uses web 2 . 0. 0 technology This can be a question that features rolled around around my mind since that time I got laid off by just a non-profit. Like many people I took that classes, I visited the webs forums and examine tutorials and before long I gained some knowledge while in the web design biz and lastly did some work with clients. But I aren’t keen on the freelance life-style, and there are indeed some people who would elect to work for a genuine company (from web 2 . 0. 0 start-ups in order to ad agencies). So if I will sell my heart and soul to Da Man, I’d like to learn where are the best career domain or industry to perform so, (such as advertising) without straying completely far from the web developer’s ecosystem. I have no desire to become the website master of Ford. com or perhaps Macys. com, it isn’t really that simple. To paraphrase, I feel that behind closed doors it is not enough to be … Continue reading
