Even worth making a portfolio?

I guess this can be sort of related to somebody that has actually gotten business of these portfolio sites… The following is my situation… I’ve always been interested in the web/computers. I started building my first webpages after i was… oh, declare probably 10-12 (’91-93: dismayed. Needing advice on design fees?

I am designing two sites for a friend, which started an online business 6 months ago and it also has taken out of beyond her anticipations. I am about to see her this kind of weekend and she’s already approved my own design layout intended for her sites. My question is, I am going to discuss the expenses with her just before I start art so that there’s no miscommunication between individuals. Each site will include things like approximately 12+ pages and We were thinking of loading her $500 each one. What do you would imagine and/or charge for your services I typically charge more to get a company that My organization is not so acquainted with, but a family friend is a different story. Many thanks $500 for each page is really hefty.. especially considering she is a family companion. I’m assuming you’re dealing with $500 for each one site, which I do believe is fair. $1000 for 24+ pages is quite reasonable, IMO. It is usually better to voluntter locally if that’s where you’re gonna build your biz. Yes – just building stuff up is definitely cool too. That and volunteering is what I did when I first started last Strut, and since then I have been hired for plenty of jobs. It works.

Yo, so heres your deal… I work at a sports memorabilia shop, and on the side do a little website development. My coworker features a friend that owns a rims firm and needs a site. This guy can be well off, 20 and already creating 150-200k+ just selling these rims. Thus… what he needs is: 1)A graphically desirable website with web pages for news, phone info, advertising, jobs, etc 2)60+ quite a few pages for rims, I’d probably use the script so i will add/edit/delete tehm easily 3) a function where you possibly can type in make/model/year within your car and find available rims (not sure how ill do this yet, probably many forms/cgi-scripts. So I’ll have some good looking to good graphics, professional however atractive, with SSI, and several cgi-scripts which would spend some time to adjust exactly into the sites needs. I work with a local laptop or computer company, and we do web page design. It is not only a huge part involving our business, but I am the one who seem to makes the web-sites, talks directly towards customers etc.. So I have a certain amount of experience as a long way as that is going. Right now, we only help to make sites for nearby businesses etc.. and I am wanting to start off offering services average joe. As to certainly not conflict, it are not any local firms, only through the online world. It will not be a challenge seperating the not one but two. Now I understand I cannot (and would not want to) add some sites I devised for ‘work’ in an affordable portfolio. What I do can do is start my own , personal portfolio, but starting certainly is the trickiest part. Question building online bulletin board??

My organization is a new member here a pal told me using this place to get some good help. Not 100% sure if this is the right area to help post but here’s the question preferably someone around these will know what you need. I am now a basic programer when it comes to web desgin. This company I work with regard to has given me this task to generate a site with almost for a jobs wanted sections, like what people guys have the following. A place where by people can post there information after which people can get there services. I thought what on earth is already being used in combination with a message board a great idea. I was questioning if people knew almost every other programs or computer code, preferably free to be able to maybe allow individuals to post there information like that people can get embark on to a site and accesss the info, something simple.
