how to combine two different timelines into mainstage..

Dont reckon that im not trying very hard before posting! I ve manufactured two movieclips with a time line every. Now i need to drag them on the libary to the mainstage in order that each movie clip has specific to it time line as well as thereby speed. I cannot apparently seperate them once they are in this mainstage. How do i do it right. Thanks.
