Browser speed comparison

http: //www. howtocreate. corp. uk/browserSpeed. html This reveals alittle biased, although some should spark some interest. Rather than biased at most, it’s know of which Opera in Microsoft windows Boxes loads much faster than IE and also FF. But at Linux boxes, FF is faster in loading versus the others. This is nothing new truly, you can Google these items up.

Duel layouts

We’ve started a job on my website to which, depending on any time on the users’ period on their laptop will load up one of two layouts. I will put a link at each layout to allow for the user for you to switch between that skins. I am regarding designing graphically right now, instead of subject matter. I will be adding content while my site grows. The very first layout is these: http: //www. remidica. net/x/ The other layout is these: http: //www. remidica. net/x/x/ Really, I’ve already got the joke about the double x’s and having to make a third layout for your final X. My question is that I don’t want to have the second layout being excatly like the very first layout. The navigation at the end is what is actually driving me insane. Does anyone have got any ideas on how I could truthfully lay out the navigation on the second layout Every comments, good and also bad, for this is certainly welcome! The more I am aware the better. And – as much as I know, both sites really should be viewed in all broswers (unknown regarding Opera), and all os’s (unknown for Linux).

Front Page Background/Sample song issue

Howdy all, We have a background challenge. To the home page We have background sound using. On the exact page are some sample songs. Some users are usually telling me that every time they open the page and mouse click on the sample, each songs play. Right now on my laptop or computer, and most everyone else I’ve shown your website to, this would not happen. It seems to happen with a few select indivduals. Does anyone realize why this happens Is it an old gambler issue, or activeX challenge, or what Very stumped here and may use some aid. Many thanks! what happens on your computer do you hear the background music, but when people play the test, the background new music stops Yes and no. On some computers the background continues to learn when the test song is picked. On others the vocals stops when the particular song is preferred. It seems to depend on the computer. have you ever heard of this previous to Have you tested the format within your background music Many experts have awhile since WHEN I used FP, but I hadn’t got word of that before…….. especially if both (background in addition to … Continue reading

Still design with Internet Explorer 5/5.5 in mind?

I’ve noticed plenty of my sites look like pretty garbled upward when it’s seen using ie5/5. 5… Anything, else and they also all work fine. According to w3schools merely about 4% with poeple still employ ie5. http: //www. w3schools. com/browsers/browsers_stats. asp So… Do you design/code with ie5 as their intended purpose, or is the item a lost cause Many thanks! Nope. IE6 is actually my baseline, in the event I’m targetting IE (I usually am, though ) POST ignore it. IE WDF cell phone browser breakdown for August 2006 (although not necessarily truly representative of your general population because designers will use alternative surfers and AWstats grossly underrepresents many stats, including hits): wow, that copied terribly. Summary: IE 6TH, 40. 8%, IE SEVERAL, 3. 8%, all others less than 1%. Overall: IE 1 OUT OF 3. 2% and Firefox 38. 2% (! ). Additional notables: Safari A COUPLE OF. 4% and Opera A SINGLE. 1%. Netscape 4 less than 0. 01%… report. Konqueror only slightly more than NS4. I actually much like the Opera rendering motor… I just loathe the browser which surrounds it. In the months and many years, IE and Firefox were getting closer and also closer for … Continue reading

Just found this screenshot site/tool

That isn’t my site however I thought that folks designing their sites should use this: http: //browsershots. org/ Are not aware of how long it’s going to last. It appears that they do this mostly manually. You’d believe they would automatise the procedure before launching nonetheless, hey, I’ll take it.,.. pretty cool as well as useful… That may be pretty cool however you’re right I doubt they aren’t doing it personally. It claims they distribute the web-sites to different crops. Maybe they tested out it out to see the response before they automated it. I’ll give it a try on my web-site and see how in case it works! Isn’t there one more site (albeit the pay site) that does similar thing I would ever guess it being slower anyway, because of what has to be done. Very intelligent though, and excellent for developers! It is a nice concept, but sometimes you will need the actual cell phone; for example, to attempt: hover effects, styles, Javascript, etc. You’ll be able to easily get the cheap-ass slow Apple computer for $200 or less to apply just as the Safari testbed. I got your G4 Cube about this past year for about … Continue reading

Text and graphics overlapping when displayed in firefox/linux

Hello all, My cousin has designed the woman’s website using Dreamweaver FIVE. 0. Looks equally she wants the idea to when considered with Firefox on the inside Windows but any time viewed in Firefox using Linux the text desires to overlap the graphics below it. See link below for any with Linux. http: //www. smokesignalsfarm. com/Mares. html I guess my issue is, how should your lady go about ensuring that her website turns up well in different os’s and windows In FF in PC I have text overlapping images… is that just what exactly you mean (see attachement) Check out attachment 3456 Firstly DW4… that’s similar to… REALLY old!: ermm: DW reaches 8 now. Plus frankly, if you’re about to use DW WYSIWYG to build your page, I suggest the latest version since the idea creates page far better than older reproductions. I still doesn’t produce the top code on this planet but it’s far better than before. : let down: We appear to possess more problems as compared with we thought. Yours has overlaps about the horizontal plain along with the page seems to jog off the perfect hand side, unlike mine, when observing in linux, has overlaps about … Continue reading

So, I’m trying to switch to Opera

I used to use Firefox, but I can’t stand it anymore since: While and also a decent employment of following W3C requirements, it still fails the Acid2 test. It leakages memory like nuts. It crashes a good deal. Opera, on the other hand: Passes the Acid2 test. Is using less memory by using several tabs available than Firefox may just when recently launched. Hasn’t crashed (yet). It really does have some annoyances, like having any much different UI simply by default than Firefox or perhaps IE. I’ve custom-made it heavily in order to my liking, including replacing this default skin which has a skin that looks very much like native Windows EXP (for example, the tabs look like, you know, tabs at this point, not taskbar buttons). I also can’t stand the error console whatsoever compared to Firefox. Lastly, accesskeys are broken or not even set up by means of default. There’s no keyboard accelerator for any password manager dialog (" do you want to remember this specific password"… it’s " r" inside Firefox and " y" inside IE). But I still gives all that upward for following W3C standards without crashing and employing all 1 GB of my RAM … Continue reading

Brave or just dumb to not support IE6?

Howdy everyone, Given the fact IE7 has been recently with us for a variety of months now, would you consider it to be a brave move, or plain foolish to drop help support for IE6 once you create a innovative website My site shows that the majority still use IE6 but that is decreasing every day, and pretty soon IE7 will be the main browser. On the list of reasons I consult your opinion is that I’m redesigning my site. It’s XHTML as well as CSS, and can be standards compliant. Makes perfect in IE7, Opera, Firefox, Safari, Camino and any browser you can visualize. Except IE6. It would take plenty of effort to get rid of it for IE6. By using IE6’s user trust gradually dwindling, is it worth it Within your opinion, should webmasters still take the time and effort to make a site best with IE6 now it’s been superseded by IE7 Naturally, we don’t help to make sites still appropriate for IE3 anymore! So really the issue is, at what point should we cease supporting heritage browsers — which include IE6 Involved to hear a person’s thoughts Support IE6 right up until its usage declines to … Continue reading
