newb Q: images split up into tables

the key reason why do some pages have images/banners which have been divided up directly into tables what are advantages does the particular page load quciker and just how do i recreate that in dreamweaver im betting that its to do with the split device in photoshop basically i dont understand what they are, what they’re for and how to make ’em thanks in advance phil Several years ago, if you split images along the major lines involving color division, you could reduce file size significantly. Also, by means of splitting the photograph into multiple items, it could end up being assembled one piece at a time so that psychologically, the page doesn’t take so long to load. Those rules don’t apply the maximum amount today, because obtain speeds are considerably faster. If you could do it, though, make sure you specify a for your so that page doesn’t perform the " stretch and squeeze" consequence when loading. While using the slice tool throughout photoshop. Why people love doing this, are mainly the belief that you can create any design possible, this looks great, as opposed to having to pattern in boring platforms. When you slice up the particular image, … Continue reading

Hello. Relating to my recently created, very simple Web page (using CoffeeCup HTML for a PC with Your windows program XP) at www. paul-engstrom. com… It looks fine after i view the site for a PC with Net Explorer. However, after i view the site for a Mac with World-wide-web Explorer or Netscape, usually the one simple background picture on my website is entirely more advanced than the image WE inserted, or getting older appear at many. And, with the Mac, the image image on yet another page doesn’t show up… just the little red " x" does. While in the header of the actual HTML page, I inserted this figure encoding: < meta http-equiv=" Content-Type" content=" text/html; charset=iso-8859-1" I also tried including: print " Content-Type: text/html; charset=utf-8/n/n"; Nothing seems to figureout. Query: Does a Web site need special encoding so that a variety regarding platforms and windows to read and also display graphics/images as they quite simply should appear The reason, when I view most other Web sites, do they look the same irrespective of whether I’m on a new PC or Mac Bless you. Paul Engstrom Exactly why it APPEARS on your hard disk, but not on somebody … Continue reading

This morning I changed the date on my site, and ftp’d it into the server. When WHEN I opened the updated page in Firefox, all I acquired was gibberish — Chinese or Western characters, and a number of others. The WEB ADDRESS is www. protonfabrication. com, and here’s this strange part – it displays the right way when I’m directed there by the link on yet another page, like the particular portfolio page (www. protonfabrication. com/portfolio-page-1. htm). The particular link takes us to www. protonfabrication. com/index. htm certainly not www. protonfabrication. com whilst they’re the similar page. When WHEN I type www. protonfabrication. com into your search window, WHEN I get gibberish, although add " index chart. htm" and this works. The homepage displays as it should in Mozilla, and also doesn’t in Opera. Clearly, I’m new to the, and any help can be appreciated. Things worked very good until I adjusted the date for the homepage yesterday, and I do not know what I may have done. Any ideas gives thanks, Andrew When you attempt to accessibility a root area (such as space. com), the browser actively seeks index. htm, index chart. html, home. htm, house. htm (default and … Continue reading

Imageshack – problem2u. jpg I have been away from web-design for a short time. I tried to place a div about it which have a min-width feature, but that has not helped. I defined font sizes to help 10px, that failed to help… it also might appear to be the repeating vetical track record image resizes as well, when using this ctrl + mousewheel operate. What can i do to locking mechanism these sizes down to ensure the page doesn’t distort.

Criticize my Layout/Web Page!

Hello everyone! Just allowing some background info. first. That is my first page to ever design and style using Photoshop. I’ve been majoring within graphic design for about per annum now and I took an internet design class that had related to only using codes instead of with Photoshop. I recently got employment helping this firm re-design their site. The previous developer quit and the actual boss offered me personally this awesome possibility – I told him I didn’t have very much web designing knowledge. So for a tad bit more then a week I have been working presently there, creating this style and design: I recognize the images used may not be that great within quality. That is because I had been just using what the previous web designer was using the services of and I get way better pics in the future. I also applied 2 different sans serif fonts. Oh yeah, the " Find us in action" box might be an embedded myspace video. My organization is looking for a few criticism/advice/suggestions, what people like/don’t like or anything else. They layout will be down the middle of the page. Bless you for reading! I like like the … Continue reading
