ASP Vs PHP

I’m with the stage now where We would like to choose which will server-side scripting technology I will use from today on. I can be interested if most of you could allow your/link to beliefs or articles with regards to which language you should recommend. Cheers, Ali I have recently moved over to PHP from ASP. I prefer ASP because language structure is very much more sensible to me. The problem is always that it is harder to locate hosts. ASP. NET looks great though so perhaps worth investigating. I have tried using both but my partner and i kinda lean in direction of PHP for the belief that i like mysql alot as well as two of these individuals work great together PHP makes use of more standard format and has more affordable hosting available. ASP can be slowly being phased available, with the recently available introduction of Microsoft windows Server 2003 (which can certainly host ASP. NET). Match PHP for now. There’s no reason you cannot learn both afterwards. You cant make a mistake learning PHP. But if you could be serious about website development i would declare learn both (or more) finally, you will come across situations … Continue reading

Chat room on website

Secure put a Chat room on a website Is there software for being purchased or just rented from the host They’re usually scripts that are installed one, try this http: //www. hotscripts. com/CGI_and_Perl/Scripts_and_Programs/Chat_Scripts/index. html page Ideally you want to use a client-side application to accomplish it. Server-side solutions for example PHP and CGI chew up bandwidth just like no tomorrow as the page must possibly be refreshed every couple of seconds to fetch new content. Client-side solutions are instantaneous and pushed–something the HTTP protocol won’t intrinsically suppory. Bandwith!!! Oh I wish I could get more!!! Thanks for any advice guys.

Large file uploads

I have a client of which publishes a magazine. They have a requirement for people every single child easily send them large files (ad mockups along with such). They have try yousendit and identical services but wish something easier for customers to make the most of. The transferred data files are quite large usually (100mb+) Formerly suffering with tinnitus giving this a few thought, and I’m not sure the best ways to go to sort it out. It needs to get simpler for the final user than making use of an FTP buyer. And with PHP I’d ought to worry about delivery times. Any individual have any strategies I’m not quite sure about this specific, but the record upload limit for Perl is technique high… whilst, PHP is usually configured for the max-filesize which is low, and make time. Perhaps worth experimenting using a Perl file include script… which most individuals incorrectly call CGI. Perl scripts are stored in your cgi-bin directory. Despite the fact that just do an easy upload test with all the most basic script, simply to check if it works. I wouldn’t (or shouldn’t) steer anyone made by this forum to one more, but in the … Continue reading
