Reading stats in AWstats
I was going through my stats affected person, as you can. I was investigating one of my favourite sections the actual " Connect to help site from". We were looking at the stats and one thing I cant come up with (and yes We have RTFM but didn’t find any benchmark to it) seemed to be what the TWO sets of numbers close to each URI suggest. For example: Can anyone enlighten me about what the numbers mean This really is bothering me. Webpages / Hits I have no idea how AWStats separates hits/pages, though. Ah hah! Cheers Brak. From the AWstats page: http: //awstats. sourceforge. net/docs/awstats_glossary. html Webpages: The amount of " pages" logged. Only files in which don’t match an entry from the NotPageList config parameter (and fit an entry connected with OnlyFiles config parameter if used) are measured as " Pages". Ordinarily pages are set-aside for HTML information or CGI data, not images nor other files requested due to loading a " Page" (like js, css… files). Hits: Any files requested from the server (including files that happen to be " Pages" ) except the ones that match the SkipFiles config parameter. How can we really have … Continue reading

linking on same page
Can easily someone tell me why my link seriously isn’t working If you click on the first item in the particular menu " What is QuittersClug. org" the page should move down for the content text with the same question. It works traditional in IE however , not in Mozilla the two on and away. Only the 1st menu item is defined to scroll immediately.. thank you I are not aware where this computer code resides.. Even so, you define ones anchor links (or hotspots) such as so HTML: < the name=" linkName" > < /a> And then to jump compared to that area on the page you’d do.. HTML: <! — this is certainly assuming you are around the same page –> < the href=" #linkName" > hyperlink text< /a> Hope that helps. I apologize.. I forgot the actual link… the site is simply a quick job for the friend so the code isn’t standard… but I thought similar page linking should of at least worked because We have done it just before… suggestions the site… http: //www. wargame. ms11. net/qclub. html code Now i have seen your code, I are able to see you are pointing to some … Continue reading

Do I need to register a business name?
Okay I’m areas with web living space on Dream Sponsor, thanks JB with the help! But I’m wondering if i start doing a few freelance web design/hosting, must i need to register a business name As well, would this possibly be concidered " FreeLance" work or could it be a " Business" I’m uncertain what to contact it: lick: Thanks for virtually any input! You are subject to a person’s local and state (if inside the U. S. ) small business laws. If you could do business, I know your state will need their share within your taxes…….. so yes, you would really need to register your company. A lot of licenses aren’t in which expensive. Being a freelancer is posting business, by began seeing. Enjoy……… Im not too clued through to business rules etc in the us, but I’m sure you may start doing " freelance" work without registering a business. So my advice is to start freelancing under a (company) name that you choose. Start an internet portfolio, or website selling what one does. There will come a time once you have a couple of clients you see the important things about actually registering the organization. It might … Continue reading

Can’t view Dreamweaver help files
Ideally, this is the right place to submit this thread… horribly new and undecided. Up until yesterday I can view my aid files and faq in Dreamweaver MX 2003 however is not today. I obtain a " there was a dilemma starting help" information box everytime WE try. For a few reason I aren’t able to view the *. chm data anymore. I can watch the files by way of Acrobat but My organization is wondering if anybody knows how I will fix things so I could use help with Dreamweaver. Thanks! If you dont have many custom settings, I’d try to uninstall & reinstall. Thanks but regrettably I tried that without the need of success. I got wondering if it is a. dll problem Almost any. dll experts to choose from Well, Concerning an update. I thought I’d check other help files plus it seems that I’ve lost the ability to see any help information, including windows support and support. I will be running WinXP house edition. Not finding the best day! EEP! I’d contact a person’s PC manufacturer for that one. Look at this link… resolved my problem instantly. Using Images instead of ugly Submit Buttons
This is simply not something new, it’s just anything I didn’t realize before and WE spent hours trying to figure out why my Perl script wasn’t working. Thus, this might aid others… and give someone tips to use an impression map with PHP or perhaps Perl, instead of with all the standard HTML impression mapping. I can’t explain it here without a real example of how my first try fails with IE… and how this 2nd example works together both browsers. This is the complete reason and example: http: //www. catpin. com/imagebutton. htm Maybe this is simply not really a " tutorial", but someone might find it useful. –max–.

Stretching jpegs to fit browser window
Hello, My organization is a musician, not only a web-designer. I recently used a web-designer that will put a site together. One of the particular requests I made was that the jpegs I cropped for your 17" screen with a 1024 resolution ‘stretch’ to suit into a 16 to 19" inch screen, much like it is possible to stretch an photograph in windows to suit your desktop. I will not care about pixelization. I experimented with the images employing a simple ‘zoom in’ as well as ‘zoom out’ software. Yes, there has been pixelization, but, the feel belonging to the image didn’t modify. I was ok by it. The designer provided me with one among an image this stretched very nicely in Firefox. However, but there’s more stretch vertically around IE. And I don’t know how it looks for a Mac platform. The designer said ?t had been a simple little bit of javascript he used for that Firefox. Does anyone know of any workaround. I want large jpegs ( averaging 70k ) that will stretch horizontally and vertically to suit 15 to 19" privacy screens in I. AGE., Firefox, and with a Mac platform. Bless you. http: //www. webdesignforums. … Continue reading

How important is speech in webdesign?
Basically i have a stutter even though i am pretty good on a you to definitely one basis we vary wildly in relation to telephones and world-wide-web talking. For instance some days my business is fine, others i fight to even say my personal name.. its somewhat annoying actually. What type of impact would that have on getting a freelance webdesigner Could i make do on e-mail plus instant messaging Properly I’d just start off talking via e-mail and IM, and whenever they request live chew the fat, just kindly mention that you stutter a bit and to please be patient along with you. Shouldn’t be problems with most people today. Hello Perad, IMO Stuttering will not affect intelligence. Singing or speaking alone or reading from a script will enhances fluency. It cannot affect freelance webdesigner. Yes, you should get communication in your clients on email or online talk IMs. Well.. Wish you everyone for your profession.: classic: I can’t for your life of myself pronounce the cover letter " r". WE absolutely hate that. Thank God la and orange county Michael and definitely not Richard or something… In any case, I don’t think make sure you have any difficulty … Continue reading
