Where to start?

Howdy everyone! I am new here as well as new to web page design. I would relish to figure out how to code and application sites on my own, but I really do not know where to start. What are the most important things I might need to know how to undertake before I could start designing online websites Obviously mastering HTML is probably the first thing to learn The way would I go about doing this Recently i purchased HTML to get dummies hoping it may be able to help. Although the book was published in 1997, it had great reviews also it sells for through $700 new now. I figured it had to be worth something. Does anyone get any advice or tips for me Thanks earlier. For interactive (dynamic) sites, you’ll need to learn a server-side language for example PHP and regarding databases, MySQL. Then, like you state, HTML and CSS. So you would certainly recommend starting using PHP and MySQL Exactly what would be a sensible way to go about finding out these two things Books Websites If you might help point me while in the right direction, I would be very gracious. How would I…

… add a dynamic press release and industry announcement area to our site design We are a graphic designer who’s going to be recently adding " internet designer" to my skills. I have happen to be tasked with, and mostly finished redesigning my company’s web page. Here is a better explanation of what I wish to accomplish: Two other individuals in my organization might be contributing content pertaining to our site all the time, and they aren’t web designers. They must post press releases available for our organization, as well as post industry reports related articles. Relating to designed areas on the home page the location where the top 5 or so latest stories/press releases could appear, with a title and " go through more" link to your page with being full article. Right now, we are doing more of these manually because I don’t have learned to have it be more automated. For instance, they write his or her article or press release, create a page regarding it, it then gets included with the full listing of articles or press releases, and lastly, the " leading 5" blocks on the home page dynamically bring up to date. All of … Continue reading

Billion Dollar Idea (maybe)

Alright men, new user these. Please don’t flame me. I have this good idea for a website which i want to set up that literally just came in my experience last night. I am a 3d modeler in addition to beginning C++ programmer. Nonetheless, I have little to no knowledge of web, html, and therefore am looking for someone to point me inside the right direction. I invented this idea past night and really do not want to give excessive of the advice away. The premise in the entire site will take place in some sort of 3d environment, albeit an exceptionally simple one. Fundamentally, I would have the user and therefore view different sides of the object similar to how it works while you customize a automobile on auto web sites. It would need to be an actual object that the user is revolving around, and i used to be kind of expecting to implement something such as 3ds max’s viewcube for any user. However, none in the other functions would be needed i. e. zoom, pan. Also, I do possibly not want this that they are like something you’d click on, I would want this that they are … Continue reading

converter website.

i want to make best way to compete with sites like video2mp3. net where individuals can convert as well as download their most desired videos from youtube to own on their personal computer. I dont really learn how to start with brussels. Can anyone you need to just give point me within the right direction. I curently have all the visuals and design work done i recently need a tool for converting the videos (my reason for doing the reason being i am a firm believer in client service and i feel those websites tend to be so overwhelming filled up with ads and pop ups and possess such a long approach to sifting through the ads to really receive your last download) I’m not an experienced in this place (video format conversions), although I’m guessing those people have their unique servers, or exclusive server accounts. Together with that, they have the particular command level applications for doing things with video, including FFMEG and these stuff. Hence, the reason they have the entire ads, is to pay more for that server, and the dedicated junctions through their ISP. I suspect it costs a lot compared to some sort of basic … Continue reading

Point me in the right direction please.

Some friends and I might like to do some online video tutoring. We choose to have our Skype names on a website that lets our customers to visit them, pay the particular tutoring fee by way of paypal etc, after which it connects to help us. We are inside different dorm rooms but want to be accessed from a single website. If there may be already a product that might handle this(or something much like this) please point me from the right direction. Various other ideas, including someone who may wish to take on the following project, are allowed. Thanks for ones replies. I’d personally start by looking at a customer program script (or service). This one is an executable program you install on your pc: http: //www. chat4support. com/live_chat. asp They support Skype chatting live with a customer. That is a same thing since tutoring a university student, instead of handling an individual support issue. But it might not be free for the particular multiple tutors… and you will have to create the scripting for you to enable the " connect with chat" features, in conjunction with PayPal. Sort of your big project But as scholars, you should be … Continue reading

PHP vs. CMS

POST can’t decide which to focus my time on up coming. Which has already been more valuable to you, knowing PHP or knowing steps to make CMS templates I understand a little PHP (enough to to forms or perhaps edit WP web themes, etc. ) but I need to find out CakePHP to carry out frameworks.. But I also need to find out Joomla (and Drupal down the road.. ). It looks like both will take some rolling up in the sleeves, so I’d like some input spend money on what takes precedence. Any starting information or points in the right direction would be appreciated too. CMS (content supervision system)… most popular strategy to create a CMS is by using PHP and MySQL, but a CMS may very well be done with Perl, ASP, in addition to any server-side system scripting. I would figure out how to customize CMS devices, like Joomla, Drupal, Squidoo. By using that, you’ll be using plenty of PHP, and most probably AJAX, JQuery in addition to MySQL. . Haha, so basically I want both I think I understand enough PHP/jQuery/SQL to receive around. Maybe I’ll try Joomla very first, and if my own language knowledge … Continue reading

design question

Howdy there folks We have a client who would like me to layout her website which has a similar feel/layout in order to chaircoversforbrides. co. uk Can someone point me in the right direction in respect of how it is designed That is the ‘shop’ part involving it. I’m guessing who’s is using php. Because my knowledge within php is confined, is there another way of repeating this Like using joomla/wordpress/prestashop/other e-commerce software I like the ‘wizard’ kind of nav bar that they have – choose covers – choose sash — check order for example etc. If anyone can certainly recommend on how in achieving this, I will often be extremely grateful. Additional notes she doesn’t need/want a web based payments system established just yet. Only a service that presents quotes. Thanks earlier That might have been built using almost anything, but if Pondered to guess, I’d say it is just a custom solution utilizing PHP. The code is actually too obscure to find it out conclusively, which is a very important thing from a design view. Pulled it up in BuiltWith (Chrome extension). Coursesmart pretty much owns the gamut of technologies. PHP, jQuery UI, Adobe flash.
