It is possible to best open source text editor for entering HTML, PHP for example. My requirements tend to be: Colour coded value (HTML and PHP) Ability to create tab spaces Must end up being lightweight, i. e. not system resource-intensive I want this because working PS and Dreamweaver with my old PC clarifies that it’s pretty slow. I’m in search of something like notepad, nonetheless with colour coded program code. I assume there will be something on Sourceforge, no Many thanks You may give HTMLKIt a go. I’m think you can find it on sourceforge. hmm, I took a glance at a screenshot and it also isn’t all that more advanced than Dreamweaver… I believe someone has brought up an open-source software on here before that is definitely like notepad, nonetheless colour-codes code. POST can’t find this though. Amenable source or free In the event it still is out there, Arachnophilia is (or was) the absolute best free non-WYSIWYG HTML editor on the market. It seems to still happen to be, now in Espresso… ooh: http: //www. arachnoid. com/arachnophilia/ Cool, thanks – that’s normally the one, I think. Modifying Dreamweaver’s auto-indent

Usually the one feature I think dreamweaver is lacking will be ability to car indent for brakets. One example is you start inputting ". classname" hit return along with the next line can be indented, once you press it un-indents. Lots of other text editors have this (like Crimson Editor). Is there how to do accomplish this particular in dreamweaver I don’t think so. I think it can be coz dreamweaver is principally based on your WYSIWYG editor and for that reason Macromedia didn’t spend all that much time on the code editing area of the program. I dunno, maybe Im right, maybe Im wrong. Let’s see what other people say… That may be an invalid statement, their text editor is extremely advanced with a great deal of time saving tools which might be built in. One example is, if you’re inputting out some CSS and type in color: a little context menu which includes a graphical chart associated with colors pops up where you can choose the color and it puts in the hex code. There’s a pile of that stuff but We were thinking maybe some sort of plugin or concealed preference. I don’t think you can for … Continue reading

WYSIWYG

Perhaps there is some prejudice towards designers who work with Dreamweaver, Golive, etc I see a lot of posts bashing them. Is there any reason for this 10-12 years ago i wrote sites using strictly text editors and when i remember appropriately, i sucked whenever it came towards the artistic aspect, however i knew this code fairly good. Maybe 3 a few months ago i started messing around having Dreamweaver 8 and found this really is helped with my lack of artistic ability. I’ve was required to learn CSS and i’m implementing PHP and other languages women and men ability to discover the code translated immediatly helps considerably. If you understand how to write HTML, next the WYSIWYG publishers are alright. The biggest explanation people bash them is a result of design view. If you ever rely solely about the design view, plus let the manager generate the HTML PAGE, then the code is crap. The majority of the WYSIWYG editors create bloated code if you ever let it. Privately, I use DW8, in split view. I don’t mess with all the design view except next time i am looking to get a particular section in the code. When it … Continue reading

In the backend you will discover input boxes where the user can enter the brand new info which after that gets written to be able to these text data files. my question is; is there any WYSIWYG editors i always can embed in the backend of the sites that will give the customer more control belonging to the txt What I want is a box much like the one Im inputting this message within icons that the person can click onto change the fonts in addition to add hyperlinks and also such.
