Dreamweaver error message

Does anyone understand what this error is and how to fix it. In dreamweaver and also error message retains appearing saying it has an error on line 1 but all thats online 1 is the actual code below which can be on every site. Should I simply just ignore the fault message <! Check your validation settings, when you have it to auto validate based on HTML and do not have XHTML validation aroused, you’ll probably have that message. Hi there, Someone just absolutly slated one of my sites to be old fashioned plus coded badly. I think they dont understand what they’re talking regarding. IE float problem

I created an affiliate site and am using a problem with 2 of the 4 pages in Internet Explorer. The content is floating into the left when I need it to heart. 3 of the particular pages come from your same CSS, so I am having trouble figuring out what Used to do wrong. link placement help

i’m building a uncomplicated webpage and i understand little about html or css coding. i’m using dreamweaver and all i’d prefer my webpage to obtain is a background image with text message over it and also 2 links. i have already the background image and text setup on it and i understand the codes to create a link. but i cannot figure out how to move the chek out where i would really like it on the page. for case in point, when i develop the link it can go to the random spot to the page, but we would like it in a particular spot. can anyone help me out Hard to express without seeing the particular web page.
