How do I make a file downloadable?
I would like to upload a archive to my server and possess it begin installing when its url is clicked. I don’t desire the page to help change or contain the user go by having a " save that link target" kind of thing……. just want these to click and obtain it. I know generally there must be a simple tag to accomplish this, but I can not find it everywhere. < any href=" path/to/filename. zip" > click on to DL< /a> If its a file it will eventually usualy promt you save it as well as open it, some movies like mpeg’s might auto play in the browser, in that case they have to ‘save target as’ In case you could, why would you want to disable this The sole way it will probably just ‘get it’ with out a prompt is because mimic stated that this file is set to throw open in an application around the users machine.. the file will certainly automatically be stored somewhere in the temporary directory. If files tend to be allowed to merely download without any feedback/prompt it would have been a fault on the browser plus a security risk. I assume … Continue reading

Trying to pass variable from the URL
I’ve a CGI script in which uses variables which must be passed from article to page. Merely run the CGI script, WE cannot use Node Side Includes. Currently, if I apply SSI, I cannot go a variable on the URL. I’d like to use the Apache mod_rewrite RewriteRule in order to pass a variable. The RewriteRule (a-z0-9+)/(a-z0-9+)$ $2. html E=MY_VAR: $1, L isn’t working. I’ve tried other activities, but this will be what the Apache documentation indicates is supposed to work. I’m with Apache 1. THREE OR MORE. 27 Can anyone help Please and several thanks! I remember about couple of years ago I had written a custom handler that would load pages, perform SSI in addition to allow special includes for instance results from CGI job applications and running exterior programs. Luckily I keep my old code, I used such as this: RewriteEngine on RewriteRule (. +). shtml pageprocessor. plpage=$1& template=shtml How are you currently trying to move your variables Is there much script Your current regexp accumulates two lowercase alphanumeric strings seprated by way of " /" and end that has a $, then attempts to help load the file that may be supplied by cost-free item with … Continue reading

new web site works fine everywhere except my clients network
Howdy, I have recently built a fresh website for some sort of client to substitute his existing web page. I have transfered his exiting URL towards new site as well as old site continues to be disabled. The new site is uploaded towards host and works fine when entered from anywhere but along at the clients business target. The client even now gets the previous website when he / she enters the URL despite the fact that its no more online. His business system PCs are powering a router(not guaranteed of brand) along with im thinking the router is a problem. Any help diagnosing this problem would be considerably appreciated!…… RK Appears like there’s something in the cache… Try doing http: //site. comx – in the event that he then gets the brand new site it’s surely a caching issue (normally whether a page has details to it the cache will probably be ignored). How long are you trying If fat loss find where the cache would it be is perfectly possible it will eventually disappear in some hours. Sean.

Validation issues. (Code Validates but not URL)
There has to be a cheap editor that will let me use line numbers Suggestions my problem. Fine, what i’ve found is that my code could validate. But while i upload it for the server that may host it, i understand this message: I am sorry, I am struggling to validate this document because on-line it contained a number of bytes that WE cannot interpret as utf-8 (in different words, the bytes found are not valid values inside the specified Character Encoding). Please check both the content of the file and the character encoding sign. i’m employing link: http: //validator. w3. org/ While i do Validate through everything works. While i use, it is not able why Suggestions the code with the Hosted file. < html> < head> < title> Welcome< /title> < style type=" text/css" > course. graytitleletter colouring: #ccc; div border: 0; extra padding: 0; the. topmenuelement border: 0 25px 0 0px; extra padding: 0px; width: 19%; #title colouring: #6699cc; text-align: middle; border: 0; extra padding: 0; #subtitle colouring: #888; text-align: middle; font-size:. 8em; #topmenu location: static; background-color: #eee; national boundaries: 2px #ccc strong; extra padding: 3px; width: 100%; border: 15px 0 0 0; text-align: middle; colouring: #bbb; … Continue reading

Site in progress…
This url is not reside yet but here i will discuss a screen shot. Just about any pointers/comments… These can be my suggestions: – Use something rather than:: for you navigation list style. Produce nice custom impression or something. ASCII stuff just looks novice. Same goes for that separators on the end navigation. — Ditch the validation buttons. If you believe on linking generally there, use text links. Simply put, noone cares. If a client is coming to consider automotive stuff they’re not interested in online standards, nor do they probably really know what it’s all about to start with. – Put some padding into the Recent News package. Rather than that I consider it looks very decent. Cheers for your response, I understand the:: ASCII looks somewhat ghey… they were form of just placeholders untill I could truthfully get something else trend right. I became also thinking regarding ditching the major validation buttons in the process but I do still prefer to make it known i always create valid pages so I do think I’ll inclue either text only or even those slimline kinds. Hadn’t though of padding the modern news bit but now i’m sure about it that … Continue reading

Putting together a site
Okay, im making a site with all chopped up peices. Im gonna make an effort to do it with a table so a long way it isnt going to great, too many spaces and they’re not coming close more than enough. Whats another route to do it instant messaging gonna code this in PHP. As you’re asked.. Let me be frank next time i say how you might be approching building this web site is sorta out dated. Even though reducing up an graphic and reassembling these people using tables will a lot more than likley work, generally is a technique that starting point designers use because it is the easist concept to grab. It is hardly ideal originating from a usability standpoint, and really offeres little in the manner of SEO in addition to numerous other benifits. Rather I’d personally encourage you to utilize valid markup(at very least no table centered layouts) and CSS to format anything else. If you could provide a link or some form of example of what your working together with we can probably make it easier to better see just what im babbling concerning. http: //www. jw1re. com/portfolio/radioxcast. jpg Type coding should my spouse … Continue reading
