Cross-domain SSI on same server

Okay, here’s my dilemma. Will server facet includes work among 2 domains making use of their own FTP accounts hosted for the same server One example is, let’s just say I squeeze below code on a page in http: //www. mysite. com: HTML: <! –#include virtual=" http: //www. space. com/shared/menu. txt" –> But equally mysite. com plus domain. com are about the SAME server, so would this SSI work in cases like this I ask because I know you can’t carry out cross-server SSI, but can one does cross-domain SSI given that they’re hosted within the SAME server Thanks ahead! The easiest method to know it is usually by testing it It might work better considering the full path and FILE as opposed to VIRTUAL: Code: <! –#include file=" D: \somewhere\on\your\hard\drive\include. html" –> Even so the files will be stored for the server, not my hard disk… I am baffled. Yeah I would test it, but the simply problem is, many of us haven’t bought this server. I just didn’t prefer to design 100 pages and have research ALL of them if the SSI doesn’t job. Sigh. Do this.. Code: <! –#include file=" /ssi/file. txt" –> That implies the ‘ssi’ … Continue reading

That’s what WHEN I call USABLE web design! Kinda appears the inside of your toilet after a night of power-drinking using the guys to me personally. I dunno though. I’m still partial towards the MMN found in this article: http: //www. v-c-v. com You have to watch the intro primary, then go throughout. (By the approach, that song while in the intro has a way cool guitar riff. Anyone know what exactly it is) www. dredg. com has my vote; atleast V-C-V is readable. I guess that is certainly Canadian terminology for just a piss-up… LOL… I like it! Sometimes art surpasses the requirement for usability Plus sometimes murder can be justified. If the Metro Toronto Police won’t … Continue reading

Best Forum Software / PHP vs CGI / search friendly URLs / etc.

Howdy all. A search here for " website software" found better discussions about a year old. So I would like to start a fresh thread…. here is what I understand and my fears: ONE PARTICULAR. vBulletin is " the common. " Most every serious forum employs it. It uses PHP which is extremely reliable. Excellent support forum. Price tag about $80. A COUPLE OF. InvisionBoard is cost-free, the best " free" website software, and 90% competitive with vBulletin, by all accounts. Also employs PHP, also is known for a great support community forum. The main distinction: not quite as simple to modify. (Not that they are confused with " Infoboard" in addition to " Ikonboard. " ) Therefore, it seems if you ask me the 2 decisions are vBulletin and also InvisionBoard. However I am not a programmer and We have these questions: SEVERAL. WHAT IS THE MOST BENEFICIAL CGI FORUM ALONG WITH SEARCH-FRIENDLY URLs I just did plenty of surfing for " directory-making" scripts at resourceindex. com—and it seems that PHP scripts NEVER advertise " seek friendly URLs. " So I am assuming, PHP are unable to do this We have discussed about " seek friendly URLs" right here … Continue reading

I will be new at web development and am creating a problem, I am building a jewelry site abd want to link my thumbnails to the larger image, I don’t aim for to make the seperate page per larger image since you will have alot of these individuals. Could someone remember to tell me the simplest and easiest route to accomplish this Make sure you explain in bare language since We are new I don’t understand alot of web design terms yet. Thanks, mrl51 michaelliebmanmsn. com The simplest think is that will insert a hyperlink round the thumbnail, and link it for the image, as listed below: HTML: < your href=" bigimage. jpg" > < img src=" thumbnailimage. jpg" width=" 100px" height=" 100px" /> < /a> Like that no page should be used for each photo. And to include in justlivyalife’s reply… to help eliminate the random world box around the thumbnail connection, add the: border=" 0" for the img tag. The alt property is for a tool-tip outline. < your href=" bigimage. jpg" > < img src=" thumbnailimage. jpg" width=" 100px" height=" 100px" border=" 0" alt=" this description" > < /a> If your code will be xHTML compatible, make … Continue reading

Jakob Nielsen killed TemplateMonster??!!??!!

I have just visited www. TemplateMonster. com. I was surprised to discover a totally new style and design there. Through the ICQ discussion with a number my friends: too patriotic (pro-American), quickly loading, impact about usability. As for me it appearance nice; more business enterprise and, get much about usability indeed; I’d an impression of which it’s Jakob Nielsen putted towards practice!!! On the other side it is… I need ideas of… More dull Dried out and too business Or it could be it’s just my own nostalgia about older TM (one of my favorite sites around the net). Will it be worth to drop on design for any sake of usability I need ideas of really… But anyway it’s worth investigating! Looks such as 1000 other business sites now. I don’t see the way it’s " American" wanting. That’s definitely certainly not USA blue, along with the USA is never the only RW& B country on this planet. Anyhow, I liked that old look. It was more unique also it gave an idea of how many templates you’d discover there. PS – POST don’t see how the tab style switch has increased usability. When I recall, the old layout … Continue reading
