What to do ?

What direction to go Here is the situation, can anyone supply their advice based on their experience on this subject one……

I recently completed a considerable database driven web application for your local company below.

We sat down and budjeted and i acquired a contract with regard to them to warning, outlining exactly exactly what was too possibly be done.

We decided on a price, might have been about 250$USD (Ruffly, im in NZ) as i presented this too them they decided that it wasnt what these people wanted.! bloody terrible i though!

Hence i said well, that is gonna have to change, basically the alterations meant i’d to rework an intire section in addition to complicate 10 flip! I have later completed it today, even when we took it very them they resolved again that changes where necessary to be made while using alignment of issues, even tho that they had previously decided on what it was trend like.

Sure you say, alignment can be a simple thing, nah, this became hard coded vbscipting things. I couldnt be bothered working, So i said that would be more.

I basically have a selling price set now, when i aint told these, of about 400-450$ USD. I must did an extra 50 hours work on the expansion from the orignal concept.

What i would prefer to know will be, has anyone else had this issue, i mean, things know about charge

i dont have got an hourly rate proceed concrete yet, i would think id select 230-40 USD but what should i charge Is there an easy way to put it into the client that they need to pretty much fork out me twice the particular orignal fee

Not sure what that you can do, but I dare say you’d probably have already worked out that in future it is best to set a fixed rate for a long time. Even when you make a rough quote estimate are you wanting hours are associated with what you’re up to and make that clear that almost any additional hours will be chargable.

With a little luck they has some understand and accept to pay more to the additional hours / work even though it was not within the original quote (although on the sound of it half of their requests weren’t inside the original quote either and that is their fault).

The main quote was for your web based databases admin thing, for you to update delete reocrds and many others. I did in which fine, then they made a decision complex statements and financial information was needed to be put straight into it! I were required to turn round and used to do say yeah, that is definitely extra, they are usually cool with that will. Currently im out of pocket 100$USD as i’d to sub-contract somebody to code some complex things personally. So i need to get paid.

I dont understand what they will do plainly decided to ask for them double the, we will observe.

I spose the great thing to do is usually to tell them the original budget were enough, as it turned out based on this particular first work. Hence yeah, They have tons of money. I nned some cash!

Basically, if both parties decide on X amount for Y work, Z work is an abundance of funds. Simple Algebra. Whenever they can’t spell Algebra, you are pooched!

Hence the causes you have persons sign papers… and add in conditions and terms clause saying you have paid for the task to be done regardless of whether the client decides they have it.
