Basically i got told to create a site for IE7 as well as Firefox 2. 0. My client said that because IE7 is going to be taking over IE6 there isn’t any reason to faff around from it. Furthermore 97% connected with visitors to the last site were using something apart from IE6.
Its now built but we would like to redirect IE6 users to your splash page and ask them to also use FF as well as IE7.
There will in addition be a switch which when clicked presents them a cookie for them to browse with IE6 whenever they wish so.
My life has been realy hectic lately. (GF’s mum passed on 10 days ago), i’m moving house and Relating to an exam throughout 10 days. If someone could direct me to how i possibly could differentiate between surfers and how possible send a cereal bar.
Help on this is VERY VERY significantly appreciated
Why do you need to tell you site visitors that their browser is old and also updated! Especially IE6 MY SPOUSE AND I fear that certainly not everyone " can" redesign to IE7… like me in my own working environment… that they haven’t updated for you to IE7 yet… and who know if i will ever have the idea.
I realize you’ve probably heard this too many times already yet, your site should work overall major browsers (FF2, IE6, IE7, Opera9 and Safari)
And so… is it because of the site doesn’t look great in IE6 however is okay in all the others that you would like to redirect people If that’s the case… post the website, we’ll help people figure you the bug.
p. utes. My condolences for your GF and family members.
I’m very sorry in your condition.
These days to business. Rather than giving a splash page, just provide a notice on the primary page. This is important because many people just don’t for instance seeing splash websites – it means different person click and people want to just go right to content.
When you can explain your issues, then do so. Most likely your problem was in the box style conformance of IE6… we’ll see cures can do for you to working things out both options for the equation.
