Some more hard proof of web standards
These are some intense figures here… I urge all of you to read the whole Microsoft redesign though, it’s an exceptional article and illustrates, once again, exactly how designing with website standards has zero room for question of its benifits. Although that would have been a tremondous amount involving savings, it isn’t like if they use a lot of bandwidth global warming will increse plus all fossil fules might be depleted. I really dont think MS even flinches at the quality of bandwidth they apply. But I sooo want to see such a substantial company adhear for you to standards. That would defenatly assistance with the web requirements movement. Probably not microsoft with particlar, but alternative sites… especially media sites that succeed on ad revenue to power its web servers may possibly adopt these strategies. Additionally… remember, that’s bandwidth savings for the. One single web site. Given they adopt this to their entire network put on potentially cut down their datacenter by countless servers. That would revisit in power, crews, and maintainence and definately save an amazing amount. Really, ESPN’s head wordpress website designer commented in a recent review that some people trimmed down his or her pages’ sizes by … Continue reading

Freedom of Speech vs Libel
When does this range cross, and at what exactly point does any hosting company develop the responability of choosing a site down rich in libel Here’s the challenge, my best clientele called me sufferer informing me of a situation that one among his friends features gotten into. WHEN I talked to him or her, and here’s the best way it goes: He had working lady develop a website for him a little while ago, but he didn’t have any money at the moment. He agreed to 5% from the sales of his reptiles for that next year. It turned out a slow year or so, but eventually he or she sold $11k about one trade present. So, he informs his webmaster of your, but tells him or her he wont develop the money to your ex boyfriend until he recieves cost himself (a sensible request). Last week later, his site is replaced by using www. albinorattlers. com Nearly all of what is explained are blatant is situated (libel) yet, sort of unproveable. The internet master has given that dissapeared. The names he signed into contract with cannot be found in any public information, nor can any private investigator find him. … Continue reading

Your font-of-the-moment
When I become an added active designer Im finding myself suddenly inspired by fonts (talk about geeky). Every once in a while I see the font I’ve recognised about for more than a decade and all of the sudden realize it’s gloriousness. To do, Impact is having its toll in me. I merely love it… nothing additional to say. It’s actually a great bold font in which screams " GO THROUGH ME" For a little bit it was Clarendon, after that Georgia… now I’m back to good ol’ Consequence. What’s your font from the moment I’d like to collect a collection of great fonts. I find that hard to search the thousands out there… one at a period of time I can consider. CHANGE: Names of fonts… not necessarily actual fonts (meaning you should not break copyright rules) ONE. Century Gothic – At all times stylish/minamalistic general purpose sans-serif. ONLY TWO. Ariston – Used this for a project for any Dance/Ballet school (similar towards the typeface shown around the UK KFC adverts) THREE. Haettenschweiler – Large weight font using more character when compared with ‘Impact’ with a bit of an urban/old skool theme about it. – Trebushet MS for text … Continue reading

Vote now – am I a plonker?
Newcomer here – in the beginning stages, and getting many good fedback out of this board so gives thanks! I have been previously putting together my personal first site and thought to take it absent on vacation along with me….. so promptly copied it to my flash drive. When I tried to see from my flash drive I’ve no images in any respect – just those people irritating little crimson X’s!!! lolol I assume my pages are trying to find a internet page from my C drive Should i simply tell the page to look for files in the same directory I vote yes — I’m a plonker! the one thing that I could think of can be right clicking along with checking the homes. That should tell you where its looking for them. You’ll probably must change each image’s target to where it can be now. Can’t you just work without these people though Sure, I can carry out without them today…… but will I obtain the same problems once i upload to my server what I meant was on earth do you work without them until you become back from journey, and then you may have them again. … Continue reading

How do you get clients?
My business is not sure wherever to post this particular question so I’m sure this might be the most effective place… Well I know that one you make a portfolio website and get a search engine ranking so low. That nobody may ever notice this however.. there must be some other ways one can possibly get clients that should pay top dollars for any website… so my question again is where will be the demand for properly designed websites What on earth is your definition of top dollars If you are actually talking with regards to top dollars (Projects highest taker millions), then your’e going to will need to have an established design firm using a reputation to kick out. If you are talking about top rated dollars (Projects putting in a bid 500-10k, average prices for web design) then use traditional internet marketing techniques. Read everything here: http: //www. sitepoint. com/subcat/find-clients.
e-mail form
I highly recommend you forgive the naivity along with ignorance I’m therefore obviously displaying right here! I’ve set up a form which often, upon the customer hitting the submit button, I wish to be e-mailed to an account provider that I stipulate. Is there a fairly easy addition to that html coding that might do this regarding me I’ve tried to accomplish it in frontpage yet got a garbled message about " frontpage extensions may only be looked at when uploaded". The use of php you incorporate the use of the technique below: PHP: < $to = “youyourdomain. com”; $subject = “your site – feedback”; $body = “< p> < font size=’2′ face=’Verdana’> This what will be displayed in the mail… “; $headers = “From: mailyoursite. com\n”; $headers . = “Content-Type: text/html; charset=iso-8859-1\n”; mail($to, $subject, $body, $headers); echo “Thank you $_POSTname, your feedback has been presented… “; > Basically, the $to/$subject/$body ought to be obvious, the headers are exactly what displayed in the header belonging to the email, I’ve also added in the code int there for you youngster should be add html while in the body of this email, on your form for those who … Continue reading
Noob – E-mail accounts
Hello, as you could tell by this question I will be fairly new to website design. I need to know one thing, How to direct e-mails by my customers with my outlook so I dont must use the host’s minimal e-mail program, im planning to make my earliest site so some tips will be awesome, thanks guy. Josh Fu Here you are at WDF! Can an individual please re-word your question Not just sure what your own question is. Sounds like you intend to recieve your mail through outlook rather than using their webmail interface If that’s the case you need your online sites providers(or whoever you’ve got your email akun with) POP/IMAP equipment address. Usually like mail. domain. com or even pop. domain. com. Might be an IP handle like 192. 168. FIFTY-TWO. 874. Then you’ll also need a strong SMTP server that will send email by outlook. Usually supplied by your internet service provider and like above examples. (smtp. space. com, etc.. ) Last you would like your username along with password. If you acquired all that to venture to outlook(express) > resources > accounts. It will have a ‘wizard’ that will prompt for most of that information … Continue reading
