Does Yahoo! search engine matter any more?

XcellenceIT team is known for a question and WE decided I need to help them by means of posting the question. Here goes:
Everybody knows that Google can be a leader in search engines. But Yahoo! se comes right at the rear of him.
In addition to my natural dilemma: since all my own acquaintances use The search engines, who are individuals using Yahoo! se after all, We have another question:
Is it worth it adding efforts in increasing for Yahoo! se Google has Sitemaps, Aol! has Site Explorer, but is it worth the time to obtain your web site inserted in both
SO, you have for making your web site the maximum amount W3C-friendly since you can. But Yahoo! se friendly

Honestly, I don’t imagine it’s worth some time, but I’m in search of a second viewpoint.

Any feed-back on this will be considerably appreciated.

Simple answer: There’s a good reason they’re not third…

I just say: Don’t aim to design " Search-Engine Friendly". Ensure it is, and if it is good enough, it will eventually make it on all search engines. Just play fair!

Thank you Wired and Steax with the input.

Good point: we should consentrate on visitors, not on search engines.

Good tip!

You’re welcome.

Which point is very true – Search Applications grab visitors anyway; what good are search engines if those site visitors don’t stay

Moreover, remember, just 5 or 6 years ago, Search engines was a noone. The time it takes for the levels to change completely on the earth of computing is usually thirty years (Microsoft) or several months (Google compared to Yahoo). And the net is a specially fast domain.

Nonetheless, as Steax explained, the important thing is to pay attention to building a excellent website. There are certain things that you can do while doing that that can your rankings, but they’re usually advisable anyway (take, by way of example, using semantic XHTML). Depending on Teddy Roosevelt, " In the event you build it, they will come. " (Not always true, especially to the intarwubs, but hi, whatever. ).
