Our cousin needs a strong Ecommerce site to sell his company t-shirts. I understand how to design sites, I have never developed an Ecommerce web page before. I’m aware i need to somehow develop a ‘shopping cart’ or something selling the shirts, but how to go about doing that may be there a healthier way He can’t have the funds for much, but he will pay for something if its worth it…
Make sure you help!
Either try and install/customize oscommerce or perhaps spend few bucks and hire an installer for just a quick job.
Wouldn’t cost a lot for someone to run and customize osCommerce. It is a great shopping wagon with almost everything you will require.
Is it possible to do to create the basic site, after which it just have a connect to the t-shirts place, where it will probably redirect to a further site created by a ecommerce business
I don’t see any kind of problem with that.
Here’s some e-Commerce Solutions it’s your decision to look into:
http: //www. oscommerce. com/
http: //www. storefront. net/
http: //www. mals-e. com/
http: //www. smartstore. com/
http: //www. webgenie. com/
http: //www. comersus. com/
We’ve no experience with any of which….. I’m kinda while in the same boat while you and your uncle – just trying to figure out this whole e-Commerce matter.
Some other things to consider are:
SSL Certificate
Business Account
Payment Gateway – just like Authorizenet, Cybercash, Signio, Secpay or even Worldpay
Fees – Setup payment for Merchant Levels (up to $500), Exchange fees (3. 5% to 4% of this turnover), Other fees (probably more…. confused. LOL: dead: )
These are the problems and concerns that i have found from the 2 weeks that i have been looking into what it takes to get the e-Commerce solution going. I’m sure there’s more to consider than just that. I’m hoping some other peeps can place their experience inside getting an e-Commerce website ready to go, and any thing else to be considered in doing so.
