Good day,
First things first, I phoned way up my ISP (BT) and in addition they said YES My business is allowed to serve webpages from my home computer if it doesn’t generate to much page views or exceed 1gb tranfer monthly. They said hi-def do Static IP address’s.
Clear. I recently installed a package called phpdev5 and this also enabled me to utilize my computer to be a local host. MY SPOUSE AND I then installed apache in addition to everythings working great. I put all the web files inside the WWW folder and everythings working very good. I did get Forbidden messages ; however , put all the particular files I would like to publish inside a public folder. That will problem was sorted. When I type in my IP handle in my browser http: //MYIPHERE/public/ the idea works fine, takes me to the index page along with everythings ok.
YET, when someone else moves on my IP address from other home computer they get a " Page Can not be Displayed" page. Quite simply nobody can gain access to my files accept me for strange reason. Apache will be running and has not produced any problems.
I was questioning if anybody could point me into your right direction or even explain to me any configurations I need to make as the config data files are default.
Thank you
The problem is not really apache, its your dns issue. The IP address you happen to be accessing is definitely not accessiable to anybody outside of your network. A choice you have is to subscribe to a new dynamic dns service(usually free) that should enable others to reach your server simply by ‘tracking’ your energetic IP address in addition to providing url compared to that address. Dyndns is a popular one.
Fine, i’ll have a hunt into that. Many thanks very much
Another question to ask about is why should you create a host Would you plan on preparing webpages mostly with regard to private/experimental use Or might you host multiple web sites for clients
The reason I ask happens because if you are going to use this server for anything but personal/testing purposes, and possess any plans internet hosting client sites, etc.. you will save yourself a bunch of headach and agony if you outsource your hosting. Hosting your personal production server is not really for the faint associated with heart, especially should you be doing it on a line ment to get residential use.
Im just deploying it for personal utilization, just playing about by it so the " experimental" one.
Also i’ve downloaded an application called mydynIPpro and get run it. Then i listed for the DynDNS thingy plus got the domain http: //danielgibbs. homeip. net and I now obtain the Forbidden message.
In addition people still are unable to access it. They reccieve an unfamiliar host message (AOL customer said so). Can you be specific and recommend an opportunity i should use please
Many thanks very much
Do you know of a firewall
Could be that port 80 is being impeded from outside a person’s local network…
Sean
Zero I dont, that problems bugging me personally lol
Also port 80 need to be open for me to take the net like My business is now. I have no idea what the issue is but Thought about want to! lol
Zero, accepting incoming internet connections on port 70 (your port 80) will be entirely different to connecting to the internet via interface 80 (their vent 80)…
Sure the inbuilt XP firewall seriously isn’t set on the ISP connection
Sean
The firewall that XP has isn’t made it possible for no. I really don’t know what the condition is. could any person tell me when http: //danielgibbs. homeip. internet actually works
I’ve truly just done any tracert… the problem seems to come when it results in BT’s network and tries for getting past 217. 47. 206. 81…
Unclear how these DNS redirects perform… I think they need a client on your hard disk to tell these people your local IP to connect to… could this be that BT is usually blocking your access
Sean
BT said they are not preventing me what exactly so ever. They said its good, let me run a number of things in control and see just what exactly IP’s I receive.
Yeah, the IP appears throughout my network place. Is this anything to do with my home multilevel or BT Lead to my home companies disconnected and real world. Can I circumvent this problem
Disconnected and offline That doesn’t sound good… how do you think you’re connected to the world wide web Via a router or perhaps via a Modem
Sean
Internet marketing using an external BT modem. While i mean disconnected and offline I am talking about the LAN network i developed which hooks quarry and my sibling computer together
Dude, really, go to UZIPP or maybe Dinsol, get an affordable plan and be against your way with hosting for any year under $30 per annum. It’ll be worth it in the end, home hosting COSTS MORE INCOME and effort, will be less reliable, so when you’re experiencing, additional frustrating.
Relating to paid hosting regards, thats not the actual point.
Greetings,
Do you think you’re behind a broadband internet or ADSL router As use of that IP moments out, generally exactly what broadband routers complete. You may think you do have a broadband modem when infact you could have an ethernet router. If you are computer was totally open may well respond to a ping, but sorry to say it wont.
Do you think you’re using BT Google! Broadband as i’m aware they furnish firewalling services.
Are also you sharing web via proxy server As which will cause issues.
HTH
Dan
What is your current IP address At this moment in time
Sean
My personal IP is 81. 156. 59. 92, trusting u guys by it lol. I possess an ADSL USB Modem by BT. Not BT Yahoo! rubbish. I also customised the installation no firewalls are effective.
Forbidden There isn't permission to access / on this subject server. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Apache/1. THREE. 27 Server with localhost Port 80
I also understand this message trying gain access to TSWEB.
