Nicest Page Layout

What are the cleanest, easiest to help read layout (Font colour, Bg color, and anything that concerns that) All Love it if more want is what you would imagine the best looking layout would be. Thanks alot!

10pt Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif #000000 Natural on #FFFFFF bg

Font Experience: 10pt Verdana, Tahoma, Arial
Font Color: #000000
Font Properties: Normal Text : normal, headers — bold, links – underlined
System BG: #FFFFFF

WE agree. When you define your font size help it become relative so that it can be resized according towards visitors preference. WE use font-size: x-small to get my main wording and font-size: larger for my headings.

12 point is formally easiest to study… 10pt and persons over 50 should squint.

But not surprisingly all of my page layouts are the ideal… duh!

Not true… 12 pt. arial is technically harder to read since the font becomes bubbly as well as less discernable. ELEVEN pt. serif (times, or anything else. ) is the simplest to read on the net, but serif fonts usually are impossible to learn at 72 dpi.

At 800 x 600 on the 17" monitor, 10pt arial is comparable to the size of text in a magazine. If someone has trouble reading, they will probably also use glasses or contact lenses, which will eliminate the importance for larger font sizes. Personally, I not usually use ADA fonts… in case a magazine doesn’t require rescalable fonts, why should my internet site need ’em

Maybe, but most people I’m sure (older) have 15" or perhaps smaller monitors.. I just now know that with some sites which I’ve done which were targeted at a mature audience, I was purposefully asked in making the font larger all around health couldn’t read them. And then there’s the main anti-aliasing thing…

YOU. Reading a publication is easier compared to reading off the monitor.
COUPLE OF. You should allow your visitor to determine your site while they want to enhance useability.
THREE OR MORE. It’s easier to move a magazine magnified to read these annoying little colored paragraphs that change up everywhere than it truly is to move a new monitor.
FOUR. If a magazine could let you change its font size it would!

There are plenty of differences between magazines and sites that mean a primary comparison can’t always be drawn. For instance magazines don’t allow you to wait for 2 minutes before you can open them and then start playing animations.

Very good points, all ones, but none of them change the truth that web fonts are generally significantly different from different " sizes".

10pt arial, my font of preference, is a very poor font choice at another size.

on 12pt, I would probably choose verdana, and 14pt or longer, I would select Times New Roman (believe this or not).

In addition all that, 10pt arial will be quickly becoming by far the most popularly used font on the web, which means that searchers have begun adapting their computers close to that basis. What imagine is that people that have a really difficult time reading those small sizes will make their resolutions lower to ensure the text appears larger.

If someone having poor vision is by using a 15" monitor, it isn’t really the fault with the designer. He could a lot more than correct his problem using a 19" at 900 x 600 employing standard font styles.

Now I’m not saying that people shouldn’t style and design to ADA talent tree… don’t get myself wrong there. If you know your audience is primarily visiting be older folks, take that into consideration… it’s always important to design to the market. All I’m saying is the fact personally, I don’t generall consider of those with poor eyesight being an important sector for my work… so I seldom take them in to consideration in my personal work.

That’s fair sufficient but if Now i am reading a page and I would like to sit to come back and relax while I do it I much would rather hold down ctrl and scroll my mousewhell back two or three notches than resize our display – more substantial fonts sizes won’t be the reserve in the elderly.

There isn’t any loss of design making the font dimension dynamic as x-small is definitely as near while dammit to 10pt.

I don’t even think the point this is designing for ADA, or exactly the same group in any other country, but more that you ought to give your guest the freedom to work with the browsers functionality to the most. I change both equally my text width and resolution depending on the work I’m doing and the time.

Font sizes aren’t an exact science in web development the same way as they quite simply are in print because the designer has simply no idea what express the monitor used to view them is due to.

Why alientate a piece of your likely market when you don’t need to

You can’t not work out with this one:

Font Experience: 24pt Times Brand new Roman
Font Color: #66FF00
Font Properties: Normal Text : striketrough, headers — overline, links – striketrough, link hover – #FF00FF
System BG: #FF00FF.
