Please HELP

I’m unclear if here is the right place to post this sorry or else just tell us were to relocate it and i’ll.
Alright so the buddy and POST made a redesign E-commerce site for the local company and were stuck on simply how much to bill these individuals. This is some of our first " legit" internet business transaction. We did not log hours down so we can not charge for every hour. Here is might know about did and just hoping several of you could understand this and give us your own personal estimate. We have side coded a flat-file database system to treat the store items and pictures along with redesigning all on the graphics and navigation.

Really… this is a tough one…

JUST ONE. You obviously went to a lot trouble to produce a custom system and website for most of these guys, but

TWO. You did many things wrong, age. g. PHP at windows, Cart32. exe, flat-file private product catalog, pen navigation, etc.

Countless companies deliver Magento, osCommerce, X-Cart, VirtueMart, as well as UberCart websites for $1, 000 to help $1, 500. The end result of your efforts appears if you ask me to be less valuable over a cookie-cutter eCommerce internet site, because it lacks most of the standard features which a pre-built system can have (Search, newsletters, wishlists, innovative administration, etc. ).

Everybody wouldn’t pay a dollar to the system you designed. We are chosen day in and day out in order to replace systems this way with real, sensible eCommerce systems (our latest is www. givewink. com, replaced a proprietary system like yours using a Magento installation in addition to custom design).

But that doesn’t discount that experts claim you did art. I say charge $500-$750 and chock upward the lost energy to learning expertise. Then go how to install and configure Magento.: -D

Regards for the replay and constructive criticism and the fact you weren’t a ass. Yeah we are aware that this system we build is just not up to par, but its what the client wanted. The client were using Cart32 and the windows webhost frequent and she wouldn’t want to transform. We had to adopt the flat-file approach because servers at the hosting company do not own SQL installed. I’m actually very surprised construct y had PHP operating under FastCGI, even if it is PHP4. So please know that this was definitely not our first selection. And have to state very nice internet site there.

MY PARTNER AND I don’t find your own answer. But a solution .
