WHY would you like to make a social network site
Who is the audience

One thing you have to accomplish is ask yourself a few questions.
The biggest question is, what are you doing that is definitely different from the remaining websites

I understand what will help it become diffrent, what i should certainly know is what software i must use, maybe an individual has some assistance and maybe a number of reference links, i want it to always be like myspace, by using profiles, ability for them to provide friends etc …..
Thank you.

Hopefully shipment take this too negatively, but if you have to ask then I do believe you should halt aiming so high to start with. Have you made websites before Have you any idea XHTML and CSS Are there any experience programming Did you know fundamentals of databases Should you answer no to any of the people, then you should find out about those first. There’s no software that’s going to make you any community site. Sure there’s forum software and also a heck of plenty of copy-and-paste scripts for chatting and commenting, but those aren’t about to help to much unless you start at the beginning.

And here is my advice, rise or leave this:

* Find out XHTML and CSS

* Learn the server-side language for example PHP or ASP. NET (or Ruby on Rails, since you realize what it is)

* Find out database fundamentals (pdf! ) (go for SQL Server and also PostgreSQL because you’ll need all the functionality it is possible to get)

* Learn fundamental content management (every community site is actually a giant content management system). This one is tough to look for resources for if you don’t buy a book about the language of your choice. Otherwise you can download a no cost CMS and try to make sense connected with it, but that is certainly the harder option.

After all that you need to be set to make your community site, but it’s simply not gonna get together until then. The community site can be performed, but it can not be your first venture. There are experts on here who wouldn’t wish to take on this project. Keep it within your sights, but begin at the beginning.

In my estimation the job will be too big for starters person, especially for someone that is just coming into website design.

If you might use a device side language next perhaps ruby on rails can be best as this will reduce your development time period. Be warned though it is just a little harder to master then PHP, furthermore it really is far less well-liked than php.

Only was doing this We’d do the adhering to.

Map out your site, your own audience, features, how users bypass the site etc

Complete your research, consider CMS solutions just like Joomla etc, net languages, decide what you might make your web page with.

Find some good people in who understand what they are accomplishing. Design is crucial, especially to get people with the door. If you feel that you could design to this standard then at all cost give it any go, otherwise find another who can perform. The same matches development. From day 1 you’ll want to program the web page correctly, it shouldn’t be done for a learning curve or you will be constantly reprogramming your code because you learn new methods. This is incredibly inefficient.

Established a forum in your handful or just like minded forward thinking designers/developers. Set ” up ” an action plan, schedule, delegate tasks.

Construct Site.

And most importantly, post it on here for any review

Thanks everyone for all your advice these were all very great, ive already recently been reading up on an array of webdesign books and now have a few concerning ruby on bed rails and php, i’ll get some books on the other stuff also, i have additionally started an
at-home/online webdesign course so i’ll defenitly be commencing other websites first, this is a little project that i defenitely can do and include in my learning, right this moment im just putting down all my ideas for this project in writing

Plan it of course, because then at the least you have the ideas down on paper. Once you’ve got any ideas down, you can learn anything you’ll need, such as PHP and also databases, and see where you can take it from there.

It might be ideal to have a minimum of one accomplice, as designing a big scale site by yourself will be nearly anything but easy. POST tried myself, but lost the battle as I realised there is an increasing set of features I needed to code to make the whole thing secure and n accessible.
