What to do ?
What direction to go Here is the situation, can anyone supply their advice based on their experience on this subject one…… I recently completed a considerable database driven web application for your local company below. We sat down and budjeted and i acquired a contract with regard to them to warning, outlining exactly exactly what was too possibly be done. We decided on a price, might have been about 250$USD (Ruffly, im in NZ) as i presented this too them they decided that it wasnt what these people wanted.! bloody terrible i though! Hence i said well, that is gonna have to change, basically the alterations meant i’d to rework an intire section in addition to complicate 10 flip! I have later completed it today, even when we took it very them they resolved again that changes where necessary to be made while using alignment of issues, even tho that they had previously decided on what it was trend like. Sure you say, alignment can be a simple thing, nah, this became hard coded vbscipting things. I couldnt be bothered working, So i said that would be more. I basically have a selling price set now, when i aint told … Continue reading

Content Alignment
Hello folks. I intend to use dashed boarders. What methods don’t you guys use/recommend in making these graphics scale with the length of the page There should be not a problem with the length of the page increasing because the moment because your entire graphics run flat. If you do want scalable photographs my preferred method should be to split the image to receive an area that can be repeated using CSS then tile that with all the areas of this image that can not be repeated. One example is your banner is usually repeated where that dashed lines are generally between the " Blackbox. web graphic and " that you’re to many" sic It takes a little bit of thinking but it’s fairly simple if you create areas of an image as compared to can ‘expand’ more regularly.

Help with first web site
It is my first website, and I desire some critique in it. Overall, I’m pretty proud of the overall format, but it simply seems too empty or plain and also something. Granted, I need to keep the idea generally simple, but a bit more liveliness would become nice. http: //recursiveloop. t35. com/div2. html REVISE: THIS IS NOT YOUR WEBSITE ANYMORE. THE LATEST ONE IS AVAILABLE THROUGH A LINK BELOW. Gives thanks! I’ve never been a admirer of black background objects and light textual content. It’s incredibly easier to read black text over a white background. The particular " colors" will set the mood for your site. Since anyone have simply no content (other as compared with Typesetter’s alignment text) it’s hard to determine if black is effective or not. The particular " music" link brings up a massive ad banner (in white)… looks really bad in your black background. It’s exactly about content Okay, here’s the light version: http: //recursiveloop. t35. com/div3-white. html This looks fine very, and I truly think it fits more considering the mood I’m deciding on… but when it is white it has even less effects than it currently did. REVISE: there will occasionally be an … Continue reading

Becoming a better designer
Definitely people. I have been recently a coder in the past 6 years or perhaps so, but We have not really took an enormous step into the earth of graphics, that’s why when my (or someones) website is finished, you will discover normally no layouts, and if you will discover graphics, they usually are not of the best value. I advertise regionally and work is sorts of starting to arrive around, so I would appreciate any guidance/tips on the way to create visually appealing sites, as POST only produce simple, text based. Many thanks guys Set yourself some sort of target to learn some of the principles that apply to Graphic Design. You make attractive pages through the use of basic things similar to: Alignment, Space, Proximity, Colour, Repeating page elements etc. These will affect how user-friendly and uncomplicated and ‘attractive’ some sort of page will how it looks look. The good thing is you don’t even need the graphics package to begin with using these issues. All you need to do is scan some of the websites featured in the " How’s my site" forum here in WDF to see that a lot of people have this mindset that … Continue reading

Dumb question, CSS layer styles
I built a internet page at 800×600. I’m trying to figure out how it is I will get the content/layout to become centered, that way when people perspective the page at say 1024×768, the content will not stretch leaving this page with a lot of white space. Like like if an individual made everything from a table and just did a centre alignment. Here’s a check out what I have got. https: //home. comcast. net/jerrysmartin The navigation about the left stays into the left and the flash within the right stays justified to the right. The content is with a div. I’d want to have it ready to where it’ll look uniform in whatever resolution. Bless you. -Mike You might even make your screaming image width = 760 pixels. Next, make a several changes as demonstrated below… Here i will discuss your CSS part for " body" shape background-image: url(images/background. jpg); background-repeat: repeat-x; margin: 0px; support: 0px; Try changing it for this: code, body background-image: url(images/background. jpg); cursor: default; font-family: " Verdana", arial, " MS Sans Serif", Geneva, sans-serif; font-weight: normal; font-size: 10px; line-height: normal; margin: auto; support: 0px 0px 0px 0px; min-width: 760px; text-align: centre; Next, add this to … Continue reading

When you check the included photos, you’ll see the first one is what I’d prefer re: the look and position in the photo of that CEO, this snapshot is whilst in DW 8… the 2nd attached image shows what the results are when it’s published towards the web, the thumbnail moves up… I positioned it simply picking out " right" inside the alignment panel with DW, then dragged it in place. How can i make the image stay placed precisely as it appears while I’m implementing it in DW 8 http: //www. enhancedwireless. net/Company/team_board. shtml Be grateful for you KB OK fixed it… simply moved the pic as a result of start on the first line below that name/title, still aligned it RIGHT, works right now. mobile version of site
Definitely all, Facebook has another design for users visiting over a mobile device. Not long ago i checked, and my suspiscions were established: my site won’t agree with nearly all mobile web gadgets, the alignment is usually thrown out the particular window. Dimensions and regions for graphics tend to be nothing what they might be on a computer, and the site is simply not user friendly on this kind of small screen (even if things did line up. ) If MY PARTNER AND I redesign a word based site regarding mobile visitors, how do i make it hence folks on mobile devices are directed presently there, and everyone else would go to my graphically oriented site (PS should you have any constructive responses on my web site, I welcome it so long as it’s respectful. ) POST found this from 2007, but the checklist has probably changed right now: http: //www. russellbeattie. com/blog/mobile-browser-detection-in-php Look at Flickr’s mobile web site (view their XHTML along with CSS stylesheet) to notice how they’ve executed their site: http: //m. flickr. com/#/home Probably better to make use of the PHP get_browser() job: http: //us. php. net/function. get-browser It’ll grant you other important information besides the … Continue reading
