Designing for maximum browser compatibility …

What does one all think in relation to designing for internet browser compatibility Up until recently I had just been focusing on optimizing my internet sites for Internet Explorer; which i thought was one of the most common browser. I have heard even more lately about Firefox and Netscape browsers and how they might display content in another way to. I downloaded both these browsers and seen my site in most three and MY SPOUSE AND I only noticed insignificant variations. Mostly it turned out minor text sizing and spacing difficulties. The image boarders appeared expanded somewhat in Firefox in addition to Netscape too, and the default window width is bigger. (Myself and also most people i always know, usually view the internet in a 800×600 IE window and my web-sites are disigned to best integrate this siz windowpane as well) So I do not see these small variations as that big of your deal to fret much about. Know what I want, not how

I am aware exactly how I would like the page being setup, but I’ve got some learning to accomplish. If anyone can certainly tell me what I’m looking to do (in technical terms) then hopefully I will take it following that. What I would really prefer to do is possess a page with a highly regarded and bottom bar/table/whatever which are always there which stay on the very best and bottom no matter if the page resizes. Also, inside the major body there would be a menu on the left that could stay aligned on the top bar because the browser expands downwards. I’d like it to end up being lightweight and tight so that there are not any visible boarders, simply blocks of coloration. It seems such as CSS is easily ideal, but in that reading I’ve obeyed far I have not found anything that simply tells me how to accomplish this so I’m undecided if I’m headed inside wrong direction. The image below will need to help illustrate my goal. Thanks for virtually every advice, code, or resources it is possible to provide! http: //img2. imagepile. net/images/77112708. png simple enough to do all you’d do is make something … Continue reading

I sooo want to get some professional advice merely may. Picture if you could a simple template layout. a) Major, header with a logo. b) Quit side, a " VERTICAL" column together with navigation menu. c) Under the header so to the right on the menu we have the main Body textual content area. d) footer with the base of the website. Dilemma: Considering the above template layout planned, we often end up with around 5 hyperlinks to 5 pages while in the navigation column. Often this creates lots of empty space while in the navigation menu area. If there’s a lot of content in one’s body area of the site it may be necessary to scroll lower, increasing the empty area under the actual navigation. Lots of designers here plan to add images having 1 px boarders towards navigation area to … Continue reading
